-Lightning Vortex for mass destruction speed
-Brain Control for tribute fodder (Just in case) and emergencies
-Creature Swap for a kill (switch a spirit reaper for opponent’s main monster, havereaper in attack, attack with Cyber for win)
-Ultimate offering (speed, once again. I am a swarmer, I have to at least try it out)
-Future Fusion (see if this is an option, at all).
Now, I promised something else for this article, and I shall deliver. What I am delievering is a peak into what I have planned for the upcoming months.
You see, I know most of you have noticed I don’t write the super strong, massively detailed articles like other people. Heck, this article is less then a page without this stuff.
But what you may not realize is that I can get away with this because I am not a mere writer. I am in charge of promotion for the realms, which means when I’m not writing articles, I am working on contests and other fun things.
Yes folks…lets talk the upcoming fun stuff.
Once again, coming soon, we will be having the Second Annual Golden Gear Awards, where you, the readers vote on which cards deserve the top prize. The nominations will open next week, and, unlike the wussy Golden Globes, the show will go on, even if there is a writer’s strike (note to my writers, you ever think about striking, I will hunt you down and make you listen to watch ever bad Vince Vaughn chick flick ever made).
Later, in March, the realms will begin its own version of the Sweet 16: Old School vs. New School, where the characters of Yu-Gi-Oh! and GX face off until we meet the new champ.
Summer will bring about more deck building/custom card contests, including a tie-in (unofficially) for one new movie.
After the Golden Gears, however, will begin a fun semi, prize is just fame, contest. This is what I wanted to talk about.
You see, I have noticed that Magic The Gathering writes little stories for their structure decks. Reasons for why it was put together, for why certain cards are in it. They are only about 40 words long, if that, but still, you instantly get the basis for the deck.
We need that for our structures.
Thus, after the Golden Gears, in between Diary of a Deckbuild, we will begin a new series, “The Lost Stories”. In this series, I will describe a deck, talk about some of my ideas, then turn it over to all of you, the readers, to write your own 20-40 word mini tale (I’ll give you an example of what it should sound like in the first article) for that deck.
I will then select my three favorite, and put it up for a vote. The winner will become the unofficial story of the deck, to be collected in one single thread and protected…forever. It is your chance to make your mark on the realms.
The first deck will be the Red Eyes Darkness Dragon deck, so begin now considering what you think.
I’ll see you next week with the Golden Gear ballots…and please, if you see me in the trading forum, dancing for Cyber Dragons…have mercy.
i added agression thats what machines are all about. Reckless Greed is causes huge problems for decks not based on the Greedy Draw engine and the engine doesnt play nice with Card Trooper or a deck with recruiters like this one.(Much better w/ searchers) The deck was low on removal snipe is the most versatile removal we have and he feeds overload.
he doesn't have that many fusions anyway so why take out power bond? And proto cyber is always good so that makes no sense either. besides that looks good.
Since this deck is all about aggression, you definitely should add in brain, just to have field control and push for more damage. (Steal a monarch and have Cyber Twin on the field? Can you say GG?)
You already have Future Fusion in the deck up top, and it's limited, but it is a must, especially ni a deck like this. Having two monsters in the grave, Future Fusion three Cyber Dragons to the grave for a Cyber End in two turns, then follow up with a pot of Avarice. Future Fusion is always a must. (I run machines, and even in a non Cyber focused build, it is still a must.)
You have plenty of draw power, so Lightning Vortex is a good option.
I suggest:
-1 Dimension Fusion (Useless unless you used Overload, which is a limited card :(
-1 Monster Reincarnation
-2 Reckless Greed

Man these sound awsome! I'm really looking forward to the contest between YuGiOh! and YuGiOh! GX and mini-stories for the structure decks sound cool. I don't know anything about how magic does their's, so I'll have to do some digging.
P.S. Sorry I didn't comment on the deck. I guess I'm waiting to see how it finally turns out.
That's fine about the lack of comment. It is still way early in the design process. This build will probably take months to finish, what with the popularity of the cards.
The Sweet 16 will be really cool, as I will even produce a bracket for members to fill out so they compare how well they picked vs. the site.
that said, I am currently looked for 2 members who would be willing to be the commentators for this event, one for the old school, one for new.
The deck stories will be rather simple, as I will give you examples of what you could do.
And finally....
Hey there kiddies...Mr. Chaos asked me to say hello. You see, me and him, we have big plans for the realms...this place is much to dull.
You see, people thought Mr. Chaos had gone soft...legit...that he'd forgotten his past. Far from it. All it takes is one bad day...
But before I leave, I have to ask...as you search have you all forgotten 2007, or have you remembered to review it.
