if i attack an open field with wildheart....can my opponent activate dimension wall and inflict dmg to me...my guess is no since wildheart is not effected by traps.

Dimension Wall isn't affecting Wildheart though. All it's doing is moving the damage from you to the opponent. Dimension Wall's effect will still take place even if the attacking monster is Wildheart.
