Dark Magician of Chaos' effect says "if this card is destroyed or removed from the field, it is removed from play"
does this mean a compulsary will take him out of the game? I used it when some1 creature swapped him, needless to say I didn't think of this at the time, but no one called me on it.
If DMoC is destroyed by an effect or in battle, Tributed, sent to the Graveyard, bounced to the hand, or spun to the deck, it will be removed from play.

Partly right, very wrong.
DMoC was changed some time ago to be played from the perspective of being sent from the field "face-up" in order to be removed from play, so if he is flipped face-down or his summon from hand negated (Force Back), he will be sent back to hand, or (Solemn Judgment) sent to the Graveyard, since he is not considered to have been sent from the field back to hand or the Graveyard.

Does this mean that if it gets CCV'd while in the hand, it gets sent to the Graveyard? I've always wondered that.

Of course. His effect only says when he leaves the field he is removed. Not when he leaves your hand. Same reason that Masterwoo's examples of Forced back and solemn are fairly poor, since they are not applicable to the situation. The card was never on the field in those cases.

My example is not poor. They're examples to SHOW that no monster ever hits the field (and if you noticed, he clearly highlighted "removed from the field") with the aforementioned cards, as well as there is no game defined area as to "where" the monster is being sent from, since it is also not considered to be in hand for effects that would activate if sent from hand.
Also, you must not remember Belgian, that players routinely removed DMoC from play when he was summoned and the summon was negated, because they still were under the impression that the monster had hit the field. Examples are only poor for people who have a better understanding of what "should" happen, and I'm quite sure that there are several people who still think a Sangan will get its effect if the summon is negated and it is sent to the Graveyard.

I did notice it. Its completely irrelevant however to the case at hand, since the effect itself states it only activates from the field, and we all know that solemn and forced back negate a summon, thus preventing the monster from hitting the field, thus from being sent from the field.

I think its fairly common knowlegde that negating the summon prevents the monster from hitting the field from the way these cards interact with monsters with continuous effects, that don't use the chain.

Again, you misconstrue your knowledge about Game Mechanics, and underestimate the knowledge base of this Forum. Just look at the last thread you posted on about Winged Rhynos. That individual was positive that Winged Rhynos was a Trigger Effect, which would place the effect as Spell Speed 1, and unable to chain to any other Traps activated as a higher chain link.
So, not all knowledge is common, and since this is not a Forum for solely for Advanced Players, explanations cant always be catered as such. Whats common to you and I, is not always common to us and them, so relevancy again only applies if it is not relevant to you.
Still solemn is a widely used and discussed card and has been for years. With winged Rhynos you have to admit the wording is misleading and its hardly a commonly played or talked about card.

Yeah, Winged Rhynos is played just about as much as Griggle or Weather Report. You cant expect everyone to know everything about how cards work, especially when Konami can just as easily change the way a monster does work, like they did with D.D. Survivor about his having to be face-up, and only once per turn RFG Summon.
