You can Tribute 1 EARTH Monster to destroy all face-up monster with DEF equal to or less than the ATK of the Tributed card.

Just wanted to ask a question about this card. Can it tribute itself for the cost, or just for the effect in general?

I was told you can't, as when it resolves, he is not on the filed, though, I would think you can, as exiled force it able to tribute itself for the effect, and the effect still resolves while it isn't on the field.

I haven't been able to find rulings on this card... possibly due to it being 'not-so-popular' or whatever....

Yes, you can tribute itself for its own effect.

If you want a better example than Exiled Force, just look at Cannon Soldier/Toon Cannon Soldier. You can tribute themselves for their own effects, and their effects still go through.
