Hi i was wondering if it is possible to tribute Mist Archfiend for Ectoplasmer, and thus not recieve the 1,000 damage at the end phase?

ectoplasmer says tribute a face-up monster anytime during your end phase, and mist archfiend says destroy this card in the end phase and do 1000 damage to controller.

so could you activate ectoplasmer before mist archfiend is gone/chain to his destruction?

(and also same thing with plague wolf?)

Yes you can tribute Mist Archfiend for Ectoplasmer, and you won't take any damage. Same thing for Plague Wolf, although you'll still only do 500 damage with the Wolf even if you boosted its ATK.
