Does anyone know any/made any Scenario that can be for 1 or 2 players (2 player being some co-op version)
I was thinking of trying to make some scenario involving the sentinel pieces and such.
Basically what I need to find is a set of rules that govern the none player pieces.. Any ideas??
Well I was thinking something along that lines, but I'm trying to figure out some scenario that two people can play (Evil Mutants and X-men) vs. Sentinel that the sentinel can play itself (by making rules how it automatically does things) so me and my friend can play a different type of game as opposed to just against each other.
For instance:
On sentinel's turn does it go after the weakest, strongest, person with such and such ability, does it attempt to capture someone.. etc..
I think all that's involved will make me need to design rules using dice for what the sentinel does.
Sentinels are definately the way to go if you want to draft a set of rules to govern them. Me and a friend had put together a basic set of rules a while ago for a similar type of game, but never ended up playing it. Basically, create a prioritized checklist of actions for the Sentinel, with the most specific rules at the top, and the most generic at the bottom, and every turn, run down the list of rules until you hit the first that applies.
1: Return to starting area with captured opponent
2: Capture any opposing figure in Base to Base contact.
3: Make multiple close actions against figures in base to base contact
3: Make one close combat attack and one ranged combat attack (use incapacitate if available)
4: Make 2 ranged combat attacks against 2 figures in range (use incapacitate if available)
5: Make a single ranged combat attack against one figure in range.
6: Use running shot to energy explode the largest group of targets in range
7: Use running shot to damage a single target
8: Take no action
You can add in more specific rules, as this was just a quick rundown. You can work in energy explosion higher on the list, prioritize single target vs. multiple target differently, specify the Sentinels to target the highest or lowest point pieces in range, or the lowest defense, or the highest damage, defend such and such a target, etc... there are any number of actions. This is why it's best to use Sentinels - first, the relatively high point costs limits the number of mindless automata governed by arbitrary rules (hey, that sounds like my co-workers...), second, all the sentinels have the same powers, so you don't have to include the entire PAC in your checklist, and third, it just feels natural to have a list like that controlling a Sentinel. It gives them a very comic book kind of feel.
Anyhow, I hope that gives you a jumping off point.
My 2 friends and I actually came up with a danger room scenario. We used dice as lasers and had a special object across the rooms from each other. (we just implemented 2 maps and made it even bigger.) but this is how it worked (If I can remember it. you need a 4 sided die, a 8 sided, 10 sided, 12 sided, and a 20 sided, Each die defense was the number of sides. IE, four sided has a 4 defense and so on. the amount of point the dice had went, 4 = 4, 8 = 6, 10 = 8, 12 = 10 and 20 had 12, ALL the dice had an attack value of 10.
When using this you need two different sets of LAZER also. One color for your team and the other color for your opponent. Also you cannot attack your opponent (But no one said anything about mind controlling your opponent to be in-front of the LAZER...) The LAZER went after each persons turn...Example...you would go then your LAZER would go...then your opponent then his LAZER...Now any LAZER could target anyone. It would be the closet person to the LAZER that usually gets hit.
use 2 sentinels at their max power and use a dice at the beggining 1,2,3 they attack you first and for the first 30mins, 4,5,6 they attack your friend for the first 30mins you have 1 hour limit if the hour goes away and you havent kod the sentinels more sentinels arrive and you guys automatically loose the game.
That's an interesting concept.
I was also thinking something along the lines of rolling a dice (not sure the sides yet) and each number corresponds to a piece and that's whom the sentinel will attack or whatnot.
