Okay, So how in the world is this card good.
I've been trying to think of Combos and best I can come up with is Big Shield Guarda going to attack mode.
The main problem with it is how restrictive it is...
TDGS-JP069
Broken Blocker
Normal Trap
Activate only when a Defense Position monster you control, whose DEF is higher than its ATK, is destroyed by battle. Special Summon up to 2 monsters with the same name as that monster from your Deck in face-up Defense Position.
1.) It must be in Defense Position.
2.) The DEF MUST be higher than the ATK; not equal to or higher. And if the ATK or DEF happens to be ?, then it wouldn't work since ? is undefined, so there's no way to know if the DEF is higher than the ATK. Also, it checks original DEF since the monster is in the Graveyard when it activates, so any modifications made to ATK or DEF is "reset".
3.) It must be destroyed in battle.
...this obviously works best with some smaller monsters with DEF not much higher than the ATK (can depend on the Decktype like...
Don Zaloog
Deep Diver
Air Circulator/"Vortex Trooper"
Giant Rat
Mother Grizzly
Pyramid Turtle
Necroface
Incarnation of the Pharaoh/"Beast of the Pharaoh"
Jutte Knight
Mental/"Mind" Master
Magician's Valkyria
Honest
Miracle Flipper
Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid
Fossil Dyna - Pachycephalo
E. Hero Knospe
E. Hero Voltech
D. Hero Diamond Guy
Split Demon Rose/"Regenerating Rose"
Lonefire Blossom
Volcanic Counter
Field Horsetail (CSOC)
Swordsman of the United Landstars (CSOC)
Jade Knight (CSOC)
Botanical Lio (CSOC)
Summon Priest (Japanese)
Shield Wing (Japanese)
Vice Dragon (Japanese)
Violet Witch (Japanese)
...things like Book of Moon, Curse of Anubis, Zero Gravity, No Entry!!, etc can help change stuff to Defense Position too.
The problem with Defend Guy or ANY high DEF monster is that...well...who would bother killing it in battle?? These days, people will just use an effect to kill it. That's why I say (from experience) that the best way to use it is with smaller monsters with very little difference between (lower) ATK and DEF. The chances of an opponent willingly killing it in battle is much higher then.
One of my favorite cards to use Broken Blocker with is Command Knight. Kill one and then get two out and their effect makes both of them 2000 attackers which your opponent cannot touch. However, three Command Knights in a deck... well... it's fun... but there are better warriors to use.
I think this card has quite a bit of untapped potential but needs the right set of three cards you wouldn't mind running in a deck. It seems like it's useful to bring out a good variety of monsters with higher def than atk but you wouldn't really run three copies of those in a deck.
It can be ok...except Command Knight really shouldn't (at least it's not meant to be most of the time) be dying in battle anyways, much less in Defense Position. And 1900 DEF, these days, is actually pretty sufficient against most "regular" monsters used. Otherwise, higher DEF like that will be killed by effects a lot of the time.
HDI, I could've sworn that Mother Grizzley had 1000 defense.
That said, it could work well in something running Rats and Pyramid Turtles. Two copies of Broken Blocker, three a piece of Rat & Turtle, and whatever else you feel like running.
Lacooda? Lily?
Eh, Creature Swap and Zombie shenanigans could work well.
Yeah, I was thinking of Rat and Turtle when Mother Grizzly went through my brain, lol.
Lily could be ok...it's still the thing about the monsters having to be in Defense Position for it to work well that makes me look away from her though, given she's obviously an attacker.

Yeah, but that would be the best thing about here. You can put her face-down, they run over her, only to have you bring 2 more out in defense. This means you have 2 of them to pound your opponent the next turn.
