i know its time to make crazy decks with the new archfiends coming out!!! these were the craziest cards ever considering there power. Ever since the tyhey came out with the archfiend synchros, ive been really been wanting a trend of archfiends. BUT STILL NO ACTION!?!?! Ive been trying out new variations to archfiends but i cant do it alone. so i need ur opinions to how we'll bring these crazy fiends back to tournaments!!! ( oh i do not have ADD!) :D
Thats not my point in this tread. since the new pack, they came out with the very familiar synchros "red dragon archfiend" & "thought ruler archfiend". Since then ive been make new variations with the archfiends. (psychic, dark world, etc) Its not that i want to find them for myself, its just in general i want to revive the archfiends. But i cant think of them alone, i need everyone in this website to maybe come up with a way to make these long and crazy archfiend decks to work. I sound crazy huh! But Maybe i should have called this forum "archfiend synchros"
Technically, you CAN use them alone...even in an Archfiend Deck.
Red Daemon's Dragon really doesn't need a specific Decktype to work given its pretty simple effects. Mostly a beatstick who happens to have "Daemon"/"Archfiend" in its name
Same with Mental Sphere Daemon (also really just happens to have "Daemon"/"Archfiend" in its name); it's only most effective in a Psychic-based Deck, but it doesn't "need" to be in a Psychic-based Deck to work as its negation effect includes itself and its LP gaining effect not only helps in terms of Archfiends with paying and all, but it also only works only for itself as well and not Psychics as a whole. (It doesn't net you LP when a Psychic destroys a monster in battle, just itself.)
Just because Shadow Tamer happens to be an "Archfiend" monster (Daemon Tamer), you don't see that being used either x_x
The only "crazy" Archfiend Decks I've really had were Psychic/Archfiend (given their LP gaining really helps when I don't have Pandemonium out, and I can use Battle-Scarred more effectively) or just more general Fiend Beatdown with Terrorking, Skull Archfiend, Gilfer, etc involved. Clevonce/"Krebons"/Psychic Commander/etc and Dark Resonator/Sprocketer/etc respectively for Tuners.
Otherwise, the Archfiends are more a family that's mostly effective with itself and trying to mix it up too greatly with any other Decktype (especially if it's not very compatible), can end up killing it.
i guess so. But either way. i just think the world is passing by and there is still no action with archfiends. Considering they can negate things like royal oppresions, i think that its sad seeing such good cards blown away like that. your right about archfiends being stable within themselves. if fixed unproperly, they will screw u over. ; , ;
Well, not like Oppression; they can only negate targeting effects on themselves and only if you roll the dice right.
It's pretty much the fault of both sides; Konami for blatantly ignoring other families' in favor of the "winning" ones lately, which only increases the gap between them, thus the ignored ones will never see play. And the players for not really attempting to try the other things besides "what wins" unless it has a (broken) way to easily win Duels or something.
Archfiends can still negate card effects like DAD, PWWB, Brain Control, Mind Control, Caius, blablahblah... They also work pretty well with EEV, which was recently mass released and can benefit from Allure of Darkness and Trade-In. Not to mention first-turn Mazera hits still rule!
Yeah, but the chances of a first turn Mazera are pretty slim. Not to mention Mazera isn't even an "Archfiend". It just works with them because it utilizes Pandemonium. And they still require a dice roll, which is another reason why they haven't been seen much; people prefer "guaranteed" protection. Most of the dice rolls for Archfiends are pretty slim chances. Even the highest ones are only 50/50 chances of working.
And only a few Archfiends work with Allure...at least ones one would probably use; Terrorking and Skull Archfiend. Guess it's personal preference if you use Soldier, Cyber, Gilfer, or Mist, though not many do. Only by adding in other things will it be more effective. Mazera, if you wish to risk it, and so on. (Also applies with EEV).
i also find that evil hero infernal gainer can really work well if you want the deck to all out beatdown. and beside that even if the dice fail, you have cards like snipe hunter( an always) and dice re-roll ( if your really into the dice) It can really do some damage.:D
Yeah, Hell Gainer is usually pretty fun in combination with Checkmate to let Terrorking hit directly for 4000 directly. Add in Axe of Despair(s) and/or Infernalqueen Archfiend(s) for more 1000 boosts for a possible OTK.
And don't forget emprisoned Queen Archfiend, which is Trade-able, Allure Bait, an Archfiend, a Fiend, EEVable, DDVable and benefits from being in the Graveyard.
Not to forget it's the biggest Non-Synchro hitter that Archfiends have.
And the chances of a first turn Mazera are 60-80% depending on your build and depending on your opponent's field if he goes first. Don't forget you run 3 Allure and 3 Trade-In at least.
Well, only if you pack in a bunch of those higher monsters for Trade-In. (I wouldn't really recommend anyways.)
Otherwise, Allure will be the one you pull off. Dunno if you'd just want to throw in 2-3 Reinforcement of the Army for Warrior of Zera or anything though. Depending on the variation, I may sidedeck some stuff while sidedecking some maindecked stuff in another version, lol.
Dark Necrofear would be, IMO, a bit wasteful to use with Trade-In or Allure. Usually, it should be able to be Special Summoned quite easily...only time I'd ever ditch it would be if it were like...the ONLY monster in my hand alongside Trade-In and/or I REALLY need the 2 card draw.
