I just started testing out my latest Psychic build, and despite the fact that it lost two copies of Emergency Teleport I still think the deck can be competitive. It needs to rely a lot more on Overdrive Teleporter now, whoever that isn't necessarily a bad thing with Hyper Psychic Blaster in your Extra Deck.
Has anyone else been playing around with these guys in the new format? The more I play Psychokinesis the more I realize how good of a card it really is. I'm usually able to Summon a small Psychic so I can blast my opponent's backrow with Psychokinesis and then drop Chaos Sorcerer without interference.
I'm thinking of adding Dandylion to my build for extra tribute fodder to get Overdrive Teleporter on the field. What are other people using to support him? I've also got Cyber Dragon and possibly Treeborn Frog in the deck to help out in that aspect.
I'm really just relying on my Synchros to help replenish my life points right now, I'm trying to shy away from adding Monsters just to gain LP.
I'm still on the fence about whether or not Mind Control is necessary, I'm thinking a copy or two couldn't hurt but I haven't tested them out in my current build yet.
I'm surprised it took so longer for people to try them at ALL besides Emergency Teleport and Clevonce/"Krebons". Even from just TDGS, their Decktype was shaped pretty nicely and all the extra stuff coming out has been extremely helpful and RGBT only extends that help A LOT. Who knows what'll show up in ANPR and beyond for Psychics.
And the primary, themed Psychic Deck I use doesn't really rely on any single monster(s) for anything really. LP Gaining has been easy with the bunches of smaller monsters and various m/t (themed or not). And it's quite fast still with Overdrive Teleport, and other draw things for them, so the restriction of Emergency Teleport actually didn't dent it as much as one would think.
The next one being a play on LP management with Fairies and The Sanctuary in the Sky, given they have their own LP theme with Mars, Neo-Parshath, etc based on LP differences.
Chaos Sorcerer hasn't been necessary at all. And when Master Jeeg and RGBT comes out...well...yeah, lol.

Well, what happens is this......
Player starts out making a Psychic Deck after Duelist came out.
Continues to make it better after Crossroads of Chaos.
Decides it isn't fast enough, and starts adding in little things like Malicious and Destiny Draw.
Continues to see the deck faulting (even more so now that he is trying to mix things.) So takes more and more Psychic stuff out.
Finally ends up with a TeleDaD Deck, and does quite well.
TeleDaD decks gets stolen.
End of story.
Moral: Psychics are very competitive, just tettering on the edge of greatness. People don't want what is almost great, they want what is proven good. (Hence the TeleDaD deck got stolen and the Psychic Deck wasn't.)
IN the end, give up on everything and play something that has almost nothing rare like Aliens...........
These days, it's all about being BEYOND lightspeed fast or something. I understand speed is important, but to potentially mess up a Deck just to use things like Destiny Draw, Solar Exchange/"Recharge", Trade-In, Allure of Darkness, or some other drawing card(s) doesn't really justify using them to me. Similar to throwing in CCV into a Lightlord Deck just because it has 3 Necro Gardna and possibly a Spirit Reaper and so on and so forth.
Thankfully, Psychics have a couple of their own draw cards like Psycho Trigger and Psycho Charge, so one shouldn't "need" other things, especially given their "from the Deck" Special Summoners alongside them like Mental Master, Emergency Teleport, Overdrive Teleporter, etc.
psychics have some of the best themed support i think ive ever seen.
two different draw cards, one for which ever way you might run the deck. both of which are essentially +1's.
they have a massively aggrivating hand killing card for your opp
a solemn
a 141 that nukes anything
a quickplay searcher that brings them right to the field
a monster that allows all your other mon a spinning effect
a mon thats a +2 and an immediate high level synchro
one of the strongest synchros in the TCG pumping a good 3000 atk with so many effects i cant even remember them correctly
and just in case, they have a low level 2400 atk synchro thats a guarenty +600 lp at the end of every turn.
thats incredible. the only reason people dont or didnt use them in true form is because 1, they dont nuke an entire field like DAD, Gyzarus or JD and 2, cause they didnt see them being featured on iether metagame or the top 16. but mayby with all the big name gues like DAD and Gyzarus now being a memory for the most part, meyby they might be able to make a bigger entrence. we'll have to wait and see.
Yep, and they're only going to keep getting more. Though they seem to be getting toned down a bit number-wise. I'm hoping we'll get Battle Teleportation from the anime (surprised it wasn't in RGBT).
Battle Teleportation
Normal Trap
You can only activate this card while you control only 1 Psychic-Type monster. During this turn, that monster can attack your opponent directly.
That + beatstick Psychic + Sebek's Blessing for more LP and more damage to your opponent.
wow. thats pretty cool. can imagine that would be abused with the synchros since they are -1's and all. after a synchro you might just have that one mon on the field now. pretty cool.
Yeah, that's how it was used in the anime; right after a Synchro Summon.
Another fun thing to try with it (if it were made) would be with Psycho Whorled/"Psychic Snail" and give that monster the ability to attack twice, then Tribute it off for Mystik Wok or something to get it off the field so the Synchro or beatstick is all you got, then use Teleportation for a double direct attack, lol.
.....you lost me there.....but i will just assume that w/e you just described was cool.
but in all seriousness, they might actually stand a chance now. with two big powerhouse synchros, an easy to get synchro and alot less nuking cards to clear the field of those mon. they could prob make a fighting chance. and those support cards, they might just make it up there in the tops. alls they need is some solid staples to help with their draw backs. like compulsory or PWWB to help with mon removal, allowing those powerhouses to go direct. since they do lack that card you mentioned.
They don't even need any "staples" to work IMO. At least after RGBT, they'll have both a big monster nuker (Master Jeeg) AND a (Set) m/t nuker (Distractor/"Destructotron").
Anyways, I was merely saying that one could get out a big Psychic Synchro and use Psycho Whorled/"Psychic Snail" and pay 800 LP to let it be able to attack twice that turn. Then use something like Mystik Wok to remove Whorled from the field so that that Psychic Synchro is the only Psychic you have, so you could use Battle Teleporation to attack directly twice with it that turn.
i see, i see. that would be pretty beast. i use snail to allow my 3000 atk mon to attack twice, now i tribute snail so that my 3000 attacker can go direct twice.
but you dont even need to tribute it. a book of moon to flip him f/d will work as well, this way you dont lose the mon presence. cause once hes f/d, you still wont control but one psychic mon.
Well, not sure on how exactly it'd work...it's possible you have to only have 1 face-up Psychic as your only monster in general and that was also Divine had in 5D's when he used it. Forget if it was Mental Sphere Daemon/"Thought Ruler Archfiend" or Magical Android...it was one of those though.
