Jeff Jones recently took a deck like ours to a 700 pack tournament and came in second, the concept is solid.

LS runs roughly 2 outs to Skill Drain shutting them down
And Drain Shuts down GB playing and chaining it to wave is almost a win by itself.

Basically the concept is DrainDad from last format only in the main deck.

lol, I was going to say, this looks alot like Jeff Jones deck.

However he does have 1 tech I like better that you don't have in there, and that is Destiny Hero Fear Monger to reuse Malicious.

He beat me with that deck in a local not that long ago, when I was using my Japanese Blackwings. Took him to game 3, but he did end up winning.

Ya, I like that he runs Fear Monger and a mained Copy of Phantom Dragon.

I'm currently debating dropping Trooper for Phantom/Fear for testing but trooper is so good against GBs.

Thoughts?

The Phantom Dragon is something he just teched in the deck yesterday. Not sure how it ran seeing as I dropped from the 700 Pack tournament, and went to a local. (Which was a good move since I came in the top 4 there.)

Is Trooper really that good against GBs? I understand it can net you a draw even with Skill Drain on the field. And it can attack over every GB save a Hop, and a tagged in Laquari, but it is left on the field ready to be attacked the next turn by any of the GBs. I actually wouldn't know having not played this deck.

Ive seen him run it for a couple weeks and I really like the way this deck runs.

The fear monger trick is really good and same with phantom.

I would personaly drop the Trooper for a fear monger though

I totally forgot that I had this account, to be honest. ^_^

so i built up this deck and play tested it. and found that it does really well against gbs and really well against ls. the rogue decks that ive been seeing lately went neck and neck with this deck and if it didnt draw skill drain it wouldnt work very well.

defender was really good to block while skill drain was out but i found that most of the time it was just tossed for d draw or allure or used for ccv. to me this meant that the deck had a week point with defender seeing that any monster that could attack over its defense would change the momentum of the deck. i ended up dropping both of these.

brain control to me was good to go for game but it was pretty dead most of the time when i drew it. i ended up dropping this as well. '

barbaros is a great card but it wouldnt always solve my problems i was facing. i kept all three in the deck but noticing it was an eight star i decided to test out trade in and add in plasma to help with the draw power of the deck. this seemed to help draw into the skill drains faster which helps against the other decks. the only thing is that i wanted to see what should be dropped for a scapegoat for plasma

Ive noticed an increase in the teched Phantom Dragons in the Side, whats the reasoning behind him other than his free SS?

gbs sp summon something, like laquari, and you bring this down. Now you have a 2300 wall in your opponents main phase 2. Not that bad...

Phantom Dragon is something I tested in my Blackwing deck and it's not bad. Most people never see it comning.
