Hi. I am going to a H to H tournament the 30th of Nov. and I was wondering if a team of weenies could win. Has anyone used a team of weenies?? Who did you have on your team??
Also its 300pts and mixed. Thanx

If you are talking all generic figs, then I'd be wary. Considering you only have three actions (four if you work in leadership), you will be wasting many actions getting into range and thereby give your opponent plenty of time to set up thier team.
If you broaden your meaning to represent several lower priced figures, then you are good to go. I've noticed that the new rules have shifted the game from running several powerhouses to a more balanced game.
Look to figures in the 30 to 50 point range that have several functions.
Mystique: Free move, Perplex, Stealth, plus a ranged option
Johnny Alpha: TK, Stealth, solid attack/damage values
Shi: B/C/F, stealth, ranged attack with good damage
Black Panther: Outwit, plus later versions have more combat capabilities
Abbey Chase: So much attack avoidance, it's scary
V Skrull Warrior: Team ability is helpful for Wildcards, plus a solid ranged attacker for minimal points
Madame Masque: Perfect figure to surround with cheap stealthed figures (ninjas) and create a little bunker of death.
U Witchblade: A little expensive, but the combination of Charge and B/C/F is invaluable with the new rules.
If you have access to LEs:
Madame Hydra: Solid ranged piece
Electra (XP): Best 19 points you could ever spend
Little Sure Shot: 10 range, 9 attack value, 2 damage. All for the bargain price of 15 points.
You'll definately need to rely on Outwit to help remove the defensive powers of your opponent. R Steel might be a good "expensive" addition to the team just so you can ferret out the opponent's Stealthed pieces.
My favorite team is a Vet Hand Ninja team. Their one problem is the ranged Ninjas only do 2 clicks of damage, but the sword Ninjas do a nice click of B/C/F.
A 300 pt team of Hand Ninjas =
12 sword Vet Hand Ninjas
6 ranged Vet Hand Ninjas
To maximize the team, you flank each ranged Ninja with 2 sword Ninjas so you can get the Hydra ability bonus. When your opponent comes in to base your ranged Ninja, your sword Ninjas slice him up. The main problem is finding enough hindering terrain for them. Anyway, weenies ARE good! Good luck!
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.
Playing a generics-only team would be more than a little risky, as has been pointed out. Were I to do it I'd use Ninjas as my front line, making use of their Stealth to provide some shielding for the rear figs.
I would insist on using a couple Mandroids for rapid deployment. SHIELD Snipers can be great, though they won't help against a Stealthed opponent. Any medics I'd go with Hydra team ones, as they can help boost an adjacent ranged attacker's AV by 1 at no movement cost; if you try using the SHIELD TA that way you'll have used two of your actions just making one ranged attack.
Mind you, I don't believe I'd take a team like this into a tournament, but it can be fun to play.
Originally posted by Balor i was thinking about shield guys and aim guys and some outwit. mabe a few small point cost figs.
The problem with SHIELD guys is that the TA takes an action. If you have ten+ guys on the board, you will be taking too many actions using the TA to make your damage count.
Having a few higer point figures is crutial to making your team work even remotely well. Otherwise your figures will be sitting around for half the game doing nothing.

It depends upon the scenario. If it was a "Weenies only", or just a low build total tournament, then Ninjas are absolutely the best way to go. The last time I played them, it was in a 100 pt tournament. I had my 4 sword and 2 ranged Ninjas and I lost 1 figure all day, and had 3 complete wipeouts as well. Granted, it takes a while to set them up considering I have to move from hindering to hindering, but that just prolongs the torture...

My friend played a pretty much weenie team in a tourney I thought that I had all wrapped up. He went 4-0 and then whooped me again in the finals. He had Kingpin and Wasp for leadership. The a whole lot of Vampire Lackeys and Con artists. He also had an E Black Cat for probability control. This was the "Hookers and Pimps and 'Hoes" army.
I would have changed it a little myself once I seen how effective it was.Wasp would come out and possibly the cat in exchange for a couple of mandroid armor for TK to get the Lackeys in tight and I suppose an R Destiny for PC.
It honestly was the most viscious army and biggest surprise I had seen in a long time.
I have seen my friends effectively use a force of Shield Agents from a roof top (Especially taking care of his Snipers and Medics) - he did have Nick Fury to lead them.
I have also seen a devistating force of Skrulls used, with Superskrull as their leader.
Under the old rules - I have not played since the change.
Paraphrasing until I get an actual quote:

LOL. Thanks guys for your help. I am thinking about going with the skrulls. I have a Super Skrull and I found some good ideas how to use him. Hay Funky, mabe you can trade me a few of them?? I have some good stuff for trade.

Oops wrong weenies (and I am sure as hell not talking about the other kind of weenies)
You cannot go wrong with Checkmate agents or medics as weenies, or Mandroids (cheapest TK in town, Folks! Step right up and slide on over and attack)
A couple of Gotham Police help at 11 points apiece. Set 'em up on each side of Little Sure Shot (15 pts, 9 Attack, 2 damage, 10 range) and you get +2 to LSS' attack. A SHIELD agent or two (at 10 pts each) behind him for +1 damage each. Sure it takes 3 actions to do it but the look on your opponent's face will be worth it
So for a total cost of 47 points you have 11 Attack and 4 damage
(If you don't have LSS (I do, BWAH-HA-HA), use Rookie Huntress, she is +3 points to above, but only 6 range)
