This weekend I won a tourny using eribee childs. I was shocked to hear, after the second round, someone call the atlas cheese while talking to the person I beat. This person had used two artilarys, the sh DI Towed and the SH danai.

So, do you think an atlas is cheese?

Any army that wins is cheese. If the winning army contained any SS mech or Haubrek BA, then that army is not cheese.

in no way is an assualt mech chesse. it has advantages and disadvantages. and with all the artie out there it is hard to think how are big lovable slow and over cost mechs ever get past the first round in one peace

Yeah, that is a first for me. If you actually played her in a 300 point army and won, you either earned it or went up against some lousy players. Either way, it wasn't cheese. Next time, bring a VTOL swarm and show him the definition of cheese.

Usually you have a severe disadvantage when you play an assault 'Mech in a standard 300 point game. Your spelling leaves something to be desired, but at least you probably know better how to play this game than your opponent with his nifty artillery. Using that Atlas wasn't cheese, it was honorable!

yes assults are not cheese, their can hit hard but normaly their heat sinks and speed is horrible.

I salute you for defeating that guy with Eriabee. Last time I went with one 'Mech (OEJ) I got pounded by Artillery. I would follow Kenjelly's recommendation and field a VTOL swarm next time to show them the true meaning of the word "cheese."

Assault mechs are definately not cheese, even without arty they can be "base-break-shot to death" with ease

i wouldn't call cheese an atlas in a 300 pointer, rather would call it a defeat,
that use of the word "cheese", is more a reaction from someone who doesn't play well and can't learn from that.

I have been called cheesey by UnFedrat for fielding my Atlas, while he was fielding 3 di towed aa 2 balacs a spring and 2 j37 (all ss) I was shocked, it was horrible, Power to the people that will brave the field with an assault mech

I am going to replace my VTOL figures with cubed chunks of cheese and suspend the cheese on the little sticks instead of the helicopter.

That's how I play my SS Balac. I have a styrofoam cheese block for it. An Atlas takes some skill and a lot of luck to be able to beat the arty/VTOL cheese that's out there. Anything that most units never get a chance to hit back even though they repeatedly pummel you is my definition of cheese. Artillery and VTOLS used properly against the Atlas have strong likkelihood of never allowing the Atlas to get a shot off before it was salvaged. I commend you on your ability to run your ### off down the field and make all your heat rolls -- it takes a brave (or clinically insane) person to try it.

In My case its thhe insane, i love my HL atlas, but its quite the liability if i vever get into psition
