The quicker you playtest these rules and get them official the happier a camper I'll be. I encourage Venues to allow players to use these rules unofficialy if they all opt to, which I'm 99% positive they will. A nice way to playtest and and a good break from 'Mechless'Mechwarrior.
I really hope that these become official before December but I guess that's pushing it. I just can't wait long enough till CA. The game is screwed up now, changes can't wait forever.
We have a 450 point match scheduled for next Satureday and Sunday, and will be testing the new rules. The BM will sit with us after and send a report to WizKids.
Rushing is bad. That has been probably the biggest mistake WK has consistently made. Let us make sure we get these new rules tested out as THOROUGHLY as possible, otherwise we will only pay for it later.
One Battlemaster and I have already run a couple of test matches (report on those in another thread) and several more of us are getting together locally tomorrow to do more testing.
The new mech movement mode has problems. Ignoring infantry completely removes the whole "surround the mech" tactic, which wasn't overpowered at all. You have to spend at least two actions, wade through counterfire and have 6-8 infantry on hand to pull it off. It's a stupid rule I hope doesn't get past the proposal stage.
