OK, I've started work on a Ghost Bear campaign, tenatively called "The Bear Roars: Operation Revival" based on the Clan Invasion of 3050-3052. I'm using the "Invading Clans" Sourcebook for mission settings.
However I've had a bit of difficulty working on the .fit files and I'm unsure how to limit Battlemechs (I want the player to be able to use only Clan 'Mechs and Clan equipment) and it seems all of my missions are available from the beginning. If I remember correctly there was a program that made FIT files for you... Anybody know where I could find it?
So far the first mission takes place on the planet Thule against the Free Rasalhauge Republic. Your mission is to search the canyons and desert plains of Thule for Mobile Artillery Guns and destroy them. So far its pretty Mech-heavy, you get in alot of heavy fire-fights and wave after wave of 'Mechs. You have to manage your forces pretty well because almost as soon as you venture into the planet the First Hussars are charging you.
Flatline as soon as you get that up and running pls post it.
Player creations continue to amaze me. The creativity and ingenuity of some people around here should earn them royalities for their products.
Well I've got the first mission more or less completed. If anybody wants to volunteer to beta test it send me a PM with your email and I'll throw it over to ya.
Well its for MechCOMMANDER 2, not Mechwarrior 2, The Fish :)
As for making it for Mechcommander 1, I wish. I hear the editor was so much easier to use. Somehow I screwed up my game with .abls, so right now production is halted. I can't figure out how the hell to fix it, the game now crashes whenever I try to play my mission...
...Maybe it has something to do with Magic's unofficial expansion pack? I sure hope not because I've used tons of his 'Mechs in my campaign (some of his models are so excellent I can't tell that they are homemade... The Executioner is my personal favorite)...
Yeah, point us to the expansion, as long as it isn't that "mechlab" stuff that I found on fileplanet, please. Then I'll be willing to test your mission for you. :)
The Expansion pack like, triples the amount of 'Mechs in the game and adds such 'Mechs as the Cauldron Born, Jenner, Executioner, Awesome, and Orion... Tons of new 'Mechs to play with.
I played around with it for a few minutes and enjoyed it. The only disappointment I had was a minor one, no Warhammer. They've even included some experimental technology and added all those high-powered weapons people have come to know and love. I was almost expecting to see triple heat sinks and ferro fibrous armor, but that's ok. :) Thanks!

Are you using the mission editor to make the new campaign? I have been hoping something new such as an expansion would come out for this game from "HugeSoft" (microsoft) that would pick up from where the previous left off, while keeping the current merc unit set-up.

Mechcommander 2 is too old for an expention. Let's hope for mechcommander 3 instead.
I'm hoping they do almost everything closer to how they did MW4mercs. Well, expect for the actually piloting the mechs of course.
