I would especially like suggestions for heat effects. What would be best?

Point Value: 163 point- Either go higher or have some nasty heat effects maybe?

My suggestion would be definitely no colors until the third click in.
Also, I think the 12 attack is a little much. The only 12 attack fig.,
so far, has been Mason. He's a full Knight. Raul is a Knight Errant.
So I would say starting attack of 11 with Command. Everything
else looks good, though! :)

11 attack Command, 3 or 4 -14 , If i remember right he said the mech had 3 medium lasers so 4 Energy Damage. How about an Overload (yello) on the 3'd click of heat and a Shutdown(yellow) and Ammo Explosion (yellow) also a -2 for BAL on the last click of heat. Besides that i would love to see this unit

I dont think his energy damage should be that high. He didnt have very strong lasers from what I understand. I think you should throw an avoid shutdown and mabye 1 crit ammo on the last click of heat before shutdown

3 energy max, and you need an ammo jam there. :)

11 attack is good, remember he makes his heat last also. And he moves fast.

Don't forget Dani Haag, and Sadia Wolf gets a 12 eventually.

Defence is a little high..., I'd bring it down, or increase the points...Also, he's a little fast for a Republic unit (people tend to forget that they pay for their good stats with lower speed)...Bring him down to 8 speed...that'd be more appropriate...The attack is a little high too...11 would be great (with command), and maybe have him pop up to 10it when he looses his command (Ala Mason)...And (sorry, but I agree with gren (if I'm reading him right ^_-) you need a Min range on that baby...Perhapse 3" would work...

Keep in mind that the RotS mechs, with the exception of Harsha Miskovitz's Blade, only use the streak missile SE. So I would be surprised to see another mech with AP. Also since it's a legionnaire, I would drop the energy weapon in favor of a brawl attack, which would be in keeping with many other RotS mechs.

make raul have less attack, and more points

his stats are like a really good assault mech that does less damage make it at about 200 maybe more

I wouldn't drop the energy, it specifically states in the novel that this particular Legionnaire had the targeting computer removed to make space for 3 ER medium lasers.
Besides, every Legionnaire so far has had a melee attack. It'd be nice to break the mould for once.

Raul Ortega was a MechWarrior who was the hero of "A Call To Arms" by Loren L. Coleman. He was made a Knight-Errant at the end of it. His Legionnaire has three medium lasers in place of the Targeting computer. I used armor piercing instead of Streak Missiles, pxhudson, because the Legionnaire carries a Rotary-5 autocannon.

if he has lasers instead of a targeting computer how come you give him IT SE/such a high attack value?

arc, with stats like that he's easy a 220-pointer. Compare him to Janella... he's faster, longer range, similar heat, similar endurance. Maybe slightly cheaper than JL 'cause no jumpjets.

I know he's a knight, but he's only been a knight for a year at most. Scale that guy the heck down.
