Well my worst fear is the Capellans will find a Reseen Marauder, if WK does not butcher the sculpt, for it featurs a good array of energy weapons, IT computer stealth armor and triple strength Myomer.
So what other mechs do you think will come along with the myomer?
Gee given that WizKids loves the BumperBots I am scared by the thought of Highlanders getting TSM - a Highlander (as in the Assault mech not the faction this time!!!) with TSM would be frightening.
5-6 move with JJ + 9-10 attack + 4-5 primary melee damage + Brawling SE plus TSM = Real Highlander Burial!!!
5 + 2 (DFA) + 1 (Brawling) + 2 (TSM after a couple of heat!) = 10 clicks of bypassing armour goodness.
Only thing that comes close is Alpha Strike from something with 5-6 damage to begin with.
Mind you if they give one to Stormhammers - not only would it be way cool - but I will be laughing all the way down!
The only mech I recall which has TSM (and read about) is none other than Kai Allard Liao's centurion. Can run so fast that he reach Victor in time. Maybe the SS would get it ?
Other than that House Liao deserves one too as TSM was "given" to them by Hanse Davion. All we need is that gas to make those myomers combusts!
I really do hope that NO CHARGEMONKEY ICE MECH IS GOING TO GET IT!!!!
actually, If I recall correctly, House Liao included the Triple Strenght Myomer (version that combusts with the gas, but always has that triple strengh - at all temperatures) on its Industrial Mechs, and some Battlemechs - the reasoning is this: These mechs would operate on environs where the gas wouldnt be present, and in the case of Battlemechs, it would be a chance (I think the RAVEN was so equipped - if anything breached the armor of the raven, it would be dead anyhow, so...)
Actually, the version of TSM that House Liao originally got their captured from House Davion was a purposefully alter version that would explosed (internal damage=bad) when exposed to a "green gas". Said gas was then used in a raid to aid in the defection of Maximilain Liao's daughter to the Federated Suns.
IIRC, in TRO 3067 it stated on one of the 'Mechs that Sun-Tzu stated that he was putting TSM on some of his BattleMechs and house Davion would suffer for our mistakes or something like that.
And in Vol. Two of Blood of Keresky (sp), Precenter (sp) Martial said to the Primus that House Liao had put TSM on their scout mechs, and mechs on high wind/no grav planets, where they couldn't be exposed to the gas for long.
Personally, I would love to see Yen-Lo-Wang, Kai Allard-Liao's modified Centurian. Didn't his son help found the Republic? Did his son have a son of his own? And is the Architecht of the Republic still alive?
Meh, I would have liked seeing the Marauder go to a splitter faction that has a lil history with it, but the CapCon marader, with a targetting computer, ER lasers and ER PPC, along with TSM and Guardian ECM, makes me think of a really hard @$$ laser brawler.
Only in the eyes of the Capcon, not a Fedrat like myself, but perosnally I would love a Reseen Marauder with a dail similar to that, all for around 225 pts, would be really nice and prbably playable.
Ok, since most of you are speaking of different things, here is a little summation of TSM:
Triple Strengh myomer exists (circa 3060) in two formulas: Capellan and Davion.
Cappellan Formula (henceforth C-TSM) has triple strenght AT ALL TEMPERATURE RANGES. Downside: When exposed to a certain gas, it spontaneously combusts. Until a 'mechs armor is breached, the myomer is protected from the gas, so the mech is VERY dangerous.
C-TSM allows mechs to carry MORE weapons and armor (Its lighter than conventional), and allow mechs to run faster, punch harder.
Davion TSM (henceforth known as D-TSM) ONLY activates its triple strenght when the mech is in the "yellow" band of heating. At other ranges (close to shutdown, or in a cool mech) it is regular myomer. Apparenly weights the same as normal myomer.
It is resistant to the gas the burns the C-TSM.
Allows heated mech to run faster, and punch harder.
The republic problably has D-TSM.
CapCon fitted its industrial mechs with C-TSM, because in normal operation circunstances, indys would never be exposed to the gas. It also fitted recon mechs with C-TSM on the reasoning that if anything breached the recon 'mech's armor, it would be dead anyway, and it could always "outrun" the gas cloud. And since they stopped using C-TSM, davion would use less of the gass, and the C-TSM recon mechs could be used.
Later on, problably, other nations got the formula for C-TSM (at the very least Davion and Steiner, as it was DAVION who invented C-TSM), and began to fit their indys with C-TSM (again on the reasoning that indy mechs would never be exposed to the gas. And if they were, well, they were cheap anyways.)
What we are bound to see in the game is more problably Davion-TSM, and it would reflect as a couple of positive bonuses on the heat dial.
C-TSM would just be a powerfull unit for its weight (and not for its point-cost), namely a faster unit with better brawling capabilities:
Like a C-Hawk that for all factions is 130pts, speed 8, and 3 damage melee, but the liao variant (C-TSM equiped) is 200pts, speed 12evade, 4 damage melee with brawling, and has some stats that drop like a rock (to simulate the damage the gas would make).
