I'm thinking of playing in a 300 point DC tourney next week. What type of teams and tricks should I expect to see? SoD Superman on every corner? Hooker-bombs? I have not decided what team I will play. Probably either Legion of Doom or SuperFriends. Love those themed teams Better finish my Lex Luthor mod too!
The Hard part of a DC tourny is getting around stealth, cause odds are there will be a stealth team out there. So make sure you do not pick indoor maps as Elevated terrain is one way around stealth. Superman team ability is another but it is a pricier option.
Odds do not favor seeing a Superman OWAW or SOD. as they would take up the mass of the team. If you simply have one outwitter on the team Superman in any form is just as vulnerable as any other figure on the board.
Now one way around the stealth issue is just circling around the stealthed figures and take out his support figures. which is what you might have to do on an indoor map.
Another way around Stealth and it works with the new rules is to TK in a good Hand to hand figure. if the figure has willpower it would be a plus as he will get hit, or you could gamble your luck on super sences or impervious. Shape shifting is not worth the bother since's it's odds are half of the other two powers.
Now the other two types of teams you'll see are Ranged teams or Charge teams. Charge teams either move in stealthed or TK themselves into a fight. Use the stealth team tactics here for the stealth movers, and the TK tactic you'll be evenly matched if you have the TK trick for your stealth team preventer.
Ranged teams make use of figures like Firestorm and Firestar. Him for the phasing which is good in an indoor map, her for running shot. Just remember that RCE doesn't work in bas to bas against non-flying characters and you'll be fine.
