Ive been gone for a while. I havent been playin this game for like months and i havent even looked at the website since i started playing MW4: mercs. Ive just got one question " What happened to this game?". I mean its taken a very negative effect since i was here and it seems its not gonna make it pass counterassualt. Where did it go wrong (since like liao incurision arrival)? I went to that guys forum about the awsome accomplishments of wizkids and some of them I havent even dreamt of thinking it would happen to the game (high-class mech players quiting?). I might of heard wrong but its like this game has lost its edge. There were complaints but the game ran smoothly because people still played despite the bad planing on wizkids part (DF Sm1 and Arnis for starters). I would aprieciate to have this question asked and if **YOU** think this game will last past counterassualt.
Id like to get back in the game but what im hearing makes me want to sell my stuff ( I NEVER SELL ANY COLLECTABLES)
Don't sell it yet, at least until I sell off about 25,000 points!
Yeah, WizKids pretty well drove this puppy into the ground and rather than having a open and free dialogue with the community, they are back to their policy of silence.
Look forward to months of BumberBots!
BTW, you need to use the term "ChargeMonkeyTude" to really start some of the WizKids sycophants to start "howling" and frothing at the mouth!
Don't let the people on this forum bother you - The game is fine. Negativity on the other hand is not, and you writing a post like you just did is a perfect example of poor sportsmanship spoiling it for everyone else.
Today is a realatively quiet day here on MWrealms, but the Flame Posts are still there. Mostly Highlander players talking again and again about Wizkids needing to fix thier army- and at the same time two new tournament LEs just appered for the Highlanders and almost nobody will acknowledge they are worth anything.
I play HL as a second faction and don't seem to have the same problem with the Highlanders at all.
Tell me its useless when you aren't allowed to attack it with your big bad AA.
Yes, the game still has a few problems, but Draddog (and others) have been trying to keep us informed of fixes that they are looking into. I believe it will last past CA, but if they do not address problem game mechanics it may not last much past the next expansion.
If I drop down behind blocking they would be... thus I could aproach without being able to be fired upon by those new AA guns that are coming out. There are other things I would still have to worry about but being able to eliminate one problem sure makes things a lot easier on me.
@crimsonshadow:
Basically MW Realms has been devided into two groups: those who think that there is nothing wrong in game and those that see wrongs in rules and wants them to be fixed. Marduk belongs to this first group and thus he gets angry when people say something negative about this game and its rules. Its hard to thease two groups to listen each others or compromises. I sincerly hope that you will take your place from middle of thease two groups and try to work as voice of reason.
<<I sincerly hope that you will take your place from middle of thease two groups and try to work as voice of reason>>
Unfortunately, the voice of reason thing doesn't work here very often. There are too many people who are too vocal with their opinions and those people are the ones others "look up to".
While there are a few problems with the game as a whole and certainly at a "top" level, it varies from area to area how the game is played and what is "wrong". Issues like tank-drop and charging and artillery are not always a huge problem in every area.
The biggest problem comes in the fact that some people talk a lot about certain problems and for some reason, WK puts stock in some peoples' opinions. The polls on the WK site recently were probably a better indication as even a casual player will fill out a poll but may not post his opinions on the game in a forum simply because there are too many of the "vocal minority" who too often express their opinions on things.
I've tried the "voice of reason" bit and it just doesn't work. There's too many vocal fanatics to shout down and your posts tend to get lost in the clutter of people shouting at each other.
Play the game and enjoy time spent with friends. Post once in a while if you must, but the biggest thing in order to continue the game is to continue to play, buy, and have fun.
The game, despite its many problems, is doing just fine. Many veteran players in my area have lost patience and quit. New players have taken their place so the overall numbers remain pretty constant.
Most folks chuck the standard rules at every opportunity. WK has made some very tenative steps to address their rule problems. More changes may be coming. How they ended up with a mechless Mechwarrior game is wonderment.
I expect CA to strengthen the game overall. Many of the figures look good and the new build total should make more army types playable.

It is to most of us, mlotoole0.
Using either common sense, or the point costing system, mechs should be the badest things on the battlefield. And no force should ever be able to win without one!
Yes, there are things that are broken in the mechanics. And, yes, WK is directly responsible for breaking them. That being said, I have to believe that they want to fix them. It's $$$ in their pocket.
I think they want to slowly fix small parts at a time, so they can guage how each tweak effects the game. I hope that's the case, at least.
They could go a long way toward edifying the vocal dissidents by opening up more channels of communication. This could only help the situation.
I am of the camp that says that there is nothing wrong with the game.
To some, this seems to mean that I am a "jackass elitist brownoser", but whatever.
I am one that will deal with units and rules on a tactical level with whatever I am given, rather than whine about rules changes to defeat figs/tactics.
Does this mean that the game is perfect? No, but any rules changes that would be applied would have other ramifications that people on these boards do not understand. A house rule that works in your area may totally change the metagame in my area, a rules change that benifits one particular faction would hurt another one badly, and so forth and so on.
Most of the time, people here will jump to conclusions, before anything is set in stone, just so they can get there voices heard. It is just a game, and as people we are smart enough to resolve problems ourselves, it is just that they have nothing better to do, than complain.
It is a good game, but don't take peoples opinions to hart, because that is all they are.
