Well Wizkid's designers love coping things (the whole idea of Mechwarrior was copied from CBT...we all know that) and we have seen them use CBT Units (cool by me), real tanks and copters, and now they have some things that look like copies of ... well... GamesWorkshop stuff .... though it is a very small copy.
What is it you ask??? well look at the weapons of your Targe and Blade (mainly the blade) and note the Targe's lasers and the Blade's main weapon. They both look a lot like Lasguns and Lascannon barrels...
This is not a rant just something I noticed that I desided to point out ...
A: you invented it. They guy who runs Wizkids created Battletech.
B: Reinvent the game for a wider and diverse audience. Mechwarrior is the expression of the need to bring Battletech to the next level. Battletech had hit the ceiling as far as marketplace presence and gameplay. In order to keep both the fiction and the gameplay going, it was necessary to reinvent the gaming experience.
C: There are only so many variants of sculpts of gun barrels and robots one can come up with before they resemble something done in another game. By the way, Battletech started out by copying designs of mechs originated by the Macross(Robotech) stories/games.
Exactly.
As the example they gave for the CBT timeline. They were starting to repeat things because they were running out of new ideas they could work with
Actually the Blades main gun looks about identical with the 2nd edition Chaos Havoc Autocannon from WH40k, all the way up to the same looking magazine.
Acheus:
MECHS ARE NOT FREEKING ROBOTS! They are humanoid shaped walking tanks that are controlled by pilot from cockpit by neurohelmet and other controls. Have you ever watched anime? In anime term is mecha witch means Mechanical Armor.
