I just had the chance to review the stats on the MW Realms Units section for the Yu Huang and all I can say is that WizKids ROYALLY SCREWED UP with this piece.
The Yu Huang is a 100-Ton Assault mech. It is capable of taking on an Atlas and winning. It was built with LB-X 20 Autocannons and other assorted weapons. As a result, the (6) point damage at short range is correct. It shows a range of 0-14 for (3) points of energy damage...again, correct. It has a high defense and a good attack, again correct.
The problem I have with this mech is this...THE SPEED IS SHOWN AS (12)!!!!
What the heck were the folks at WizKids thinking?!?
This is not a Locust, speeding along at a gallop, nor is this a Dasher II (Arnis) coming in at ramming speed...this is an ASSAULT-CLASS MECH!!! Taking a look at the stats, you could charge with this thing for (7) points of damage and only lose (2) points of movement.
I'm sorry, but WizKids again shows their obvious disdain for Battletech information in translating the Yu Huang into Mechwarrior. They've just taken the mountain...and turned it into a flying battering ram.
Just another bumperbot that folks won't be able to run away from because it can outrun ANY other mech except mechs like the Locust or Dasher...which by the way are LIGHT mechs.
Heartily agreed. a 271 point mech which has a 24" charge for 7 points of damage. Seriously. When i saw the stats, first thought in my head was: "WTF?"
With this bad boy/girl (unsure of the pilot's gender) gets spread around, will we even see any non-agil mechs anymore? Who wants to get spanked for 7 damage from something running in from 24" away? You tell me.
don't forget it has jump jets!

It's still not as bad as Arnis, it does cost lots of pts and its speed drops by 2 for the first 3 clicks.

If you really want to rant about "broken" stats then let's talk about the SS balac, the SS Arrow IV tank (Kenneth, only cheaper), the SS DI Towed Artillery.
Oh and Arnis, must not forget arnis.
And a bunch of DF units too.
And the Donars, whoever'd think about giving those things such high deffense/attack capability?
Sure, the MHI deffense tank will kill them... not. Those tanks have 9-8 attack values. Apart from the Liao who has 9IT, but only 10 inch range. Yay.
If you want to talk about units with broken stats, look for something that -really- broken, not a mech with semi-decent stats for a 250+pts mech (common, 10 attack and 22 deffense for -2- clicks ? Arnis can charge you into oblivion, with a little luck)
Mwahahaha. But Seriously, I would not waste my time charging with it. I would instead just move around the battlefield from spot to spot, killing everything I deem a threat (which is everything).
Why charge with this mech? Charging with it actually seems like the least efficent use of it, as it could be far too risky in this case, I would rather deal damage for a long time w/o having to take damage/heat from a charge.
The only ones that will charge alot with this thing are the Noobs and the slaps. The rest of us will use it like a 100 point scalpel, removing enemys from the board. :devious:
I've got it in front of me, pulled it last night and put the stats up on the stat thread. Its just as the units section shows. He's a charging beast that can also do some damage at range, and is exceptionally repairable, all the way back up to a 5 damage, 9 attack, 21 defence state.
With that kind of speed he can run with the targes in the high point games.
And this is also the undying mech. No bullets. Someone last night pulled two of them. Both were the same way. The one and only click of death was completely white except the ID number.
I agree Itrain187. To me, charging is to risky. Liao needed a fast big mech(is there such a thing??), and since we still dont have an attack VTOL........we need the speed.

I think you are absolutely correct here. The proper use of this guy will be to base your opponent's vulnerable units and crush 'em. Don't give away any clicks of damage.
Unfortunately, many players will find the charge too tempting. He will be used to charge in a big way. Somehow agility just got more important.
Yeah, I think thats the best way to play it. Use that 12" movement to reach some prime shooting spots and snipe with the energy or pound them with the up close autocannons. But if a nice 20 defense fattie presents itself (HL Longbow, SH Sphinx, Riflemen, Shockwaves, etc.), then smack them for the 7. If things don't go well, you've got a loooong dial and repair very easily.
he only has a 10 attack that's 12 to hit the targe... 11 on most other units. It's 50/50 shot and it only gets worse. this is a get in your rear and light your *** on fire mech
