It does have a negative sign for the energy damage modifier of the last click of the heat dial, so are we to assume that the others are positive effects?

Yes. These are the effects of Triple-Strength Myomer, or TSM, which increase power as heat builds up. If there is no minus sign, they're bonuses and not penalties.

You always add the heat effect. If it's a minus sign, then your adding a negative number.

Today I played at my venue, the BattleMaster had his Marauder II with him. He was also wondering if that was a misprint on the heat dial. But it's just the TSM doing what it's supposed to do.

i wondered why the TSM on most mechs had, for example, "+1" while the Bounty Hunter had just "1". I think its for the same reason as the "H" on its base: it was printed as part of a different run from the rest of CA (it seems like the most likely reason).

Yes, 'H' stands for 'Hastily Produced', which explains why the sculpt is so ugly.

On the other hand, the mech in play is INCREDIBLY nasty. We had a five-way free-for-all sealed-booster game this weekend (our regular battlemaster was dealing with a family emergency), and I pulled him. Held off twice his point value in enemy 'mechs before they brought up artillery and bombarded him.

O_o yes Bounty hunter is nasty.....but if you hit him for 4 i think it is, He loses evade......and its all down hill from their........O_O I would go up against him with OEJ any day. But hes scairy if he charges.

Darkspade: That IS the original Marauder (NOT Marauder II). And it is a MUCH cooler design than the POS sculpt we've been given. Period. Hands down.

Darkspace, you could argue about the painting that may be a matter of taste. But the unseen Marauder is the commonly accepted coolest mech design. Its just a pity FASA stole it from Robotech and got lawsuited not to use it any more.

Hmm, Id like to face off the SC Marauder2 and the DF Mauarder2. More importantly, Id like to know why the hell the cats even got a MR2. Its the dragons furies prize for winning the faction war (Although the cats one does kkick some major arse). Did the cats steal it or somethin? And Shouldnt we expect to see at least 1 or 2 more Marauders for the DF like the Liao has Tiang Zongs and Shen Yi`s?

FASA didn't steal it from Robotech, they were allowed to use Macross 'Mechs for BattleTech. Problem with their permission to use these anime 'Mechs was that it came directly from Japan, but there were also US rightholders for the marketing of mecha designs from Robotech. Robotech was a "westernized" version of Macross, based upon the idea that the average western kid is unable to cope with some aspects of anime which are too Japanese in nature. Remember, this was the eighties.

You know, I never DID understand what anyone saw in the Glaug officer pods. They look gangly and flimsy to me. I like my 'Mechs big and blocky. :)
