Okay kids, so we've had some time to digest and playtest the new rules. Now the question begs itself:

What 'Mech, besides the God-like Arnis Drummond, is the best in the game?

What 'Mech best accomplishes all the things a good 'Mech does?

Is it Stefani Ehli, with her perfect heat dial and 25 defense in hindering?

Is it Declan DeValis, with his 23 defense and 16" range for 4 Pulse?

Is it Mason Dunne, with his 12 attack with Command that goes to Improved Targeting?

Is it the :^^: Legionnaire, probably still the best damage-for-the-points 'Mech out there?

Is it Bart Bradshaw, the Swiss Army Knife of 'Mechs?

Is it one not on this list?

You tell me, loyal Realmsers. If you can only run one 'Mech against any potential army you might come up against, which one would it be?

The Liao Targe. There is nothing that it cannot do, 3AP at 12, charges for 5, good move, great armor, and a good heat dial. Don't forget the factional abilites! I know my opinion is a little slanted towards anything Laio, but this mech can go toe-to-toe with any simarly costed mech (including Anis) and have a good chance to come out on top.

Some would argue for someof the agility mechs, Mr. Bo, Miss. Paragon, Mr. Cardella.

Probably the most nastiest mech in the game is one of the old ones - a toss up between Paladin Jonah levin and One Eye'd Jack. Both are extremely tough units - and more importantly, they both look cool.

Actually I'd probably have to agree with Vegeta and say the Liao Targe. For a Non, it's extremely Versatile. It has a high defense as well as the faction abilities, not to mention both balistic and energy attacks with decent range, and topping it all off with a pretty #### good speed. The only thing about this mech that I'd say is a downer is the heat dial (if you push too hard that is)

i dunno - i'd say it would be old "one-eyed" farrel. the point to utility ratio is huge, especially in the 450-point environment. heat dial good, damage, attacks, movement and defense are impressive. and the ability to simultaneously target four enemies with either primary or secondary damage is a big plus.

Isn't this a question that's WAY too dependent on circumstance? I mean, the best 'Mech for each person is the one that's performed best, right?

So I technically I could say Miguel V, even though objectively speaking he's clearly not competitive.

In my humble opinion, in order to classify as a 'top' mech, the unit must maintain very good attack values , relatively tough defense and MOST importantly...a decent heat dial. Only a few come to my mind.

Paladin Jonah Levin - Veyr long lasting and good armour accompnied with good attack and streaks...nothing could go wrong. (8.5/10)

OEJ - Good speed, good armour and good attack. Too bad i dont like BR. Furthermore, i will still take Paladin over him. Loses out on the armour side though he has more ranged attacks.(8/10)

Clyde Joyce - A VERY good Mech in my opinion. Excellent armour and a 25 defense in hindering. Brawling and his VERY decent attack are jus bonuses and he ONLY costs 250+. Only flaw is that it would be better if his primary weapon was ballistic. (9/10)

Bounty Hunter - Even at his 10th click, the bounty hunter still has 9 attack with IT. True that his armour is a little dull in colour but with those attack values and evade , he will not lose any 1 on 1 battles. Oops...forgot about his TSM. A flaw would be that his high cost makes it hard to support him with quality units.(9/10)

I say it's a tie between.....


The Highlander Legionnaire and the Highlander Uller!!! Simply for the look of utter shock on your opponent's face when you beat them with either of these mechs.

For an actual, serious, vote, it's a tough call. I'm going to have to stick with my faction though, at which point its a three way tie between Declan, Youree, and Zebiha.

Skariah is a tough little bird too.

Hey, the Spider is a godly good mech as far as you HL are concerned!

id have to say its the ss mjolnir with a 24 inch charge, 10 attack, deals 4 takes 1, and only 87 points

Collin Tolek- Decent in all aspects
but it also has great damage

I think it would be:

Kendrick Fetladral for kicking my ### every time I go against an army that fields him... I think he's undercosted...

Other worthy mentions would be the aforementioned Liao Targe for having 22 def with Hardened armour, Cynthia Kelly for being cheap while having semi kick butt abilities, the HL Longbow for being the first Assault Mech with LOGICAL stats and Joel Nguyen and Stefani Ehli for (once again) being cheap for their abilities (actually I just like the Zeus).

Why not the stuff like Jonah and OEJ? Too expensive and SLOW. Meaning death by Arty and not enough points leftover to put up sufficient arty basing units like bikes.

If you noticed that I mentioned very few LEs, well, lets just say that since Topps took over Wizkids, the prizes, like rain in the Atacama Desert, never came for about a year to my country where I stay.

With Non's I like the Liao Targe, and the SW Arbalest. The Targe for obvious reasons, but I think the Arbalest fills its role perfectly. It's a streak boat, and is much better at that job than any of the vehicles the SW have, besides the partisan.

For Uniques I like Skariah Paragon. That begining immunity to charge/dfa/cc is just nothing to laugh at. Then follow that up with a 4 damage charge at 16" with an 11 attack, and there's no question about her competitiveness
