But since the minimum range of arty is the maximum range of standard ballistic, doesn't that mean most arty can't be used at all? Or, could it be used ONLY at 6" - no more, no less?
it is really sad when you have a set that would be very good in sealed, have 7 scuplts rendered almost useless due to the scenario rules. That is 28 units!!!!! going to be a long marqee if you pull any of those
Most of the Mortar Sqauds will still be able to place POGs (most have 4" max"). Even the Puppy Mortars can place a pog right at 6", and with a 2" blast nit things 4-8" away from it. Quite powerful in this limited range contest since they cannot be charged.
Arty is limited to 6" attack. You could use the mortar squads to place pogs. And if you get one of the towed arrow IV units w/ 0 " minimum you can use pogs.
Actually, I have given serious consideration to this.
But the unit I am looking at most is the SS Sprint. with the range restrictions to 6" for ranged combat, this thing can move 10" and then fire. The high movement and the move and shoot might make it a ideal harasser w/out worrying about AA fire.
I'd take the Atlas if I had one -_- Got an extra? j/k
I'm thinking of a Mobile HQ, though personally I really like not having to worry too much about artillery ...
Due to the focus on Mechs for this marquee, and the fact taht many units have low defenses. I am going to use support units as my choices. SSw J-37 for a repair vehicle and 3-slot trasnport. And for Liao I am going ot use the Zahn heavy transport. That way with even the limited range I can move my infantry into battle, or "drop" a tank to blow away a unit at an opportune time
