Summer Convention Updates! by Dorcas Bean and Jason Mical
With the days getting longer and warmer, the summer convention season is just around the corner. Convention season is always exciting, and the 2004 season will not be an exception. With an enormous demand for the Galactus figure, great events, and the conclusion to this year’s Path to Glory championships, the summer is going to be hotter than ever! As such, we wanted to take the opportunity to update you on our plans for this season.
First, to help meet the large demand for Galactus, we have begun producing more of this popular figure. While supplies will still be limited and we cannot guarantee every convention-goer a Galactus figure, we will be bringing increased numbers of them to most conventions. Be sure to check the convention schedule on our website for notes and updates as the season develops.
Along with Galactus, we will be bringing limited quantities of last year’s Aurora-Class DropShip, to a few select conventions this year. Additionally, the EU version of Indy HeroClix will make its debut in the United States at summer conventions. Again, check the convention schedule on our website for notes and updates.
And finally, due to overwhelming consumer demand for WizKids attendance at a convention in the Southeast, we be attending DragonCon 2004 in Atlanta, GA. WizKids will send Approved Play staff to assist in the tournament area, and we will be offering our exclusive convention pieces from a small retail booth in the exhibit hall.
As the season progresses, we will update the convention schedule at www.wizkidsgames.com with news, information, and changes. For the latest convention news, be sure to check that page regularly.
Now if only we could get a convention really up here in the North East. I live in Connecticut and I know that for me and other New Englanders it's a serious hike to the nearest convention (Philly). That's a really long drive. How about New York? or Boston? those places seem like logical places to hold conventions because there is a huge amount of people there.
heh well lucky me hopefully ill get to go to dragon con and WW- Chicago <_< It would just be neat to have a dropship O_o as for the gyr falcon....Unless the faction ability's do something to make up for the 18 def i wont get one their, Just wait afew months and pay 20$

Amen brother! I'm from Mass and I never have the time to drive to these conventions, and I don't have the spare money to fly. Lets get atleast one of these bad boys in the true northeast.

I'm not interested in every convention goer getting a fig, I want 80% of the demand meet.
Selling the Dropship again! I thought it was a con exclusive from last year. Can I believe anything that WK says? At this rate I expect the JF LE mech to be available in HtH games.
I've just about had it with this company. The figs are great (but break easy), the game is so-so, and the universe is awesome.
Rio Grande games are cheaper and better. After this year and the Star Wars mini game, MW without massive 2.0 changes will be dead in SW michigan.
About time that the WK Powers-That-Be realized that if they snubbed DragonCon this year, as they apparently had planned to do until today's announcement, they would be forced to deal with a large number of irate WK click-game fans residing within the Southeastern United States...
I'm pleased to see that they had the good sense to change their minds, considering that quite a significant amount of support for their games actually COMES from the Southeast...*DUH*
I guess it's about time to break out the Union-Class & Seeker-Class DropShips, the Orbital Gun, the 4' x 6' 3-D (collapsing) Cityscape, the (explosive) Oil Refinery, the 3-D Solaris VII Gladitorial Arena, and the lighted 'Mech Repair Bay and 'Mech Factory again...
Now that it's "worth it" for MWDA fans to attend DragonCon this year (with WK now attending), I need to start planning a multi-player "MWDA Mega-Battle" scenario game (to run at the Con) to suit the occasion (like last year's)...anyone want to help me out?
Check out the BattleROMs found through the link in the Signature below to get a little "preview" of what is to come...
Alright! Wizkids at Dragon-Con! Now I finally have a good reason to bring all my MW figures there! Hey DBowers, I am definetly looking forward to seeing your creations in action at the Con! I was there in the minis room all the time and I remember seeing you run a few games. I also took part in the huge 10000 points game that was ran one night there. We were the only team that didn't have a dropship! I am definetly looking forward to another huge battle this year! And if you need any help planning anything, I can offer any help that is needed.
