I was watching two frineds duke it out. One (friend a) had his Mjolnir in base contact with a legionarre. my other freind (friend b)had his donar in the rear arc of the Mjolnir. (not in base contact). During friend b's turn, he stated a scoot and shoot against the mjolnir. He stated that once he is in base contact after teh move, he can fire on teh Mjolnir because he is in base conatct. Friend a said that he can't because you cannot target a unit that is in base contact with one of your units with a ranged combat attack.

who is right?

Also, for viki drexel, if you push her to use single use AP on a target, and that first click of heat effect says that you may not use any special equipment or ranged combat attacks. When resolving the arty attack, can you use AP? also, do you use the stats for when you fired, or your present click?

Well, it does say in the rules that if in base contact with an enemy unit, the presence of other friendly units in base contact with the same opposing unit do not matter, and the attack can be made, which is just stupid...

For what it's worth, I believe that the VTOL can shoot into BTB if it was NOE and based. However, I would think that the target would get a free spin as soon as the VTOL based him. That would negate the -2 to hit advantage if he chose to spin.

1. friend b is correct, the rules said that you can't shot someone base contact with your unit, UNLESS that unit that shotting is also base contact with that unit.
