if this is the case, im dissappointed, i wanted ot make a clan...
AlSO, if you are a Mkrealmer and are looking for a clan...join the Diablos...we are a clan devoted ot the order of vladd....thanks
Making a clan?... What do you mean by Clan? If you mean Clan as in ingame clan, then no, because their are a set number of clans made by Kerensky. If you mean a gaming clan, then I'm not sure.
You could make your own clan ingame, but it'd be AU, and you wouldn't really be able to us the MW-DA peices, unless you just counted them as apart of your clan...
Making a clan out of exisitng kerensky clans, is too confusing. The reason why MWrealms does not have a clan because MW already have clans. Unlike in MK where clan is non-existent.
So don't expect that whatever MK does MW should have. MW has 20+ years of BattleTech legacy while MK have ..... Warcraft:Orcs and Humans legacy?..... lol :)
There is the added problem that the MKRealms Clans would have to be renamed here. "Clan" has a very specific meaning in the BT universe and the MKRealms clans do not fit it. This is hardly an insurmountable obstacle, but it is a hurdle.
Just start talking in the "so and so factions* support thread" I don't see any need for made up clans when we allready have the fiction behind the ones here now.
MKRealms-like clans aren't something which fits in with the BattleTech/MechWarrior-universe, simply because the Clans of Kerensky. But hey, you can always try to call it a mercenary group, a division, a legion or even a cult, if you desire so.
I would very seriously avoid using the term clan, unless you are going to adapt the CLAN ways and values.
Instead, I would highly reccommend creating a mercenary group. There is nothing to keep you from being Pro (fill in the faction). Just state it in your description of your beliefs.
For example, you could start "The Brotherhood of the Kilt" mercenary group, who strongly supports highlanders, and in turn, the Republic.
Or "the Lupine Battalion", dedicated to bringing the ways of Clan Wolf into the mainstream.
Originally posted by StormraiderMk2 On a second thought, I think it has its benefits, as long as we use another word apart from CLAN.
How about "HERD"? LMAO :p
ROFL... I LOVE that movie... that's a great idea... spoofing the clans into herds... kinda like WK's in-house spooks of Woof's Dragoons and the Carrot Combine... We could have Specter Walrus Herd... and the Land Platypus Herd... the possibilities are endless...
Well, there is something similar. We've got the AFFS Special Operations Group. I believe there was talk of someone creating a Draconis Combine-style group as well.
Okay, I think he means "clan" as in a group of people who play MW with each other. Much like the video game term "clan". Now, I, personally, don't roleplay MW, and I don't see the point in it really...But that's besides the fact that forming "clans" with a definition closer to that of the video game definition and not the "Let's believe MW is real! :p :cheeky:  *rainbow*" definition, is not unreasonable. Let's just give them a different name other than "clan" so this whole argument shall be over, hmm?
