If an artillery misses it drifts. if you rolled a 2 on the black die would you measure from the center of the token out of the two section? what does that arrow thingy on the token do? what does "Minimum Attack and Damage" mean? Please help. Thank you.
1. Yes that two on the black die would mean you measure out the section with a 2 on it.
2. The Arrow should be pointed away from the artillery peice in a direct line with the line of fire.
3. In the current rules an Artillery peice that is removed from play or is salvaged uses the Minimum Attack to see if it hit the Marker and would do the Minimum Damage to what it does hit. (The purposed rules would change this)
I hope this clears it up for you, and it is a question I hear a lot from people just coming into the came.
Yes, if you miss the target number on the dial, find the distance of the drift on the dial and measure that many inches from the center dot directly over the triangle by the number that corresponds to the value showing on the drift die. That represents where the artillery shell actually landed.
Ex:
Target is a 20, after rolling the die and and adding any modifiers, you got a 17. A miss. Consult the token, there is a line that reads 19-17: 2" . Your drift distance is 2 inches. The drift die showed a 3. Find the 3 on the out ring of the token, and there should be a marker/triangle on the outer edge by it. Measure 2 inches from the center dot, over the triangle to determine where the shot landed. Any units with in the blast radius of the new location are effected by the artillery shell.
Minimum attack and damage are the values listed on the token. When the artillery piece has been salvaged or destroyed or in a transport when the artillery attack resolves, use the attack and damage values on the token, instead of those on the unit when resolving the attack.
the arrow lines up with the center of the token and pionts away from the center dot of the artillery piece. the minimum attack and damage are used when the artillery piece is salvaged or destroyed and its pog is on the board.
