Don't know about some of you...but I look at the sneak peeks to see some of the new sculpts...not really (well partially) interested in the stats or how many of the same unit the Dragon's Fury get!
Why would WizKids consider Full Strike an 'offensive' SE? If you run up with this thing to base a formation of infantry, they're going to close-combat the daylights out of it next turn. And who uses vehicle formations like that? Vehicle formations are artillery magnets.
Full Strike is a completely defensive SE. It keeps away swarms. But that's about it.
Then again, if you run up to a formation with tokens on it...
Hardened armor will prevent most infantry from doing damage with close combat attacks. The things this mech needs to watch out for are : infantry with ap, 3 damage, or flamers ( note good heat dial make it easier to eat up heat from flamers).
'course, with a starting defense of 18, wonder what it is when the Armor appears? And then you'll really have to watch out and keep something to pry off capturing Infantry since they really won't have to punch through the hard armor :) Just my opinion, of course...
I do like the mech though, and look forward to having it hit the field as part of my DF force...
Yes, but it gets hardened armor later down on its dial. So it has to get smacked first before its armor kicks in...and smacked it will get, with its 18 defence. I'm not particularly impressed with Full Strike at present...but i do disagree with Deep Blue...it is an offensive SE, offensive to us at least! :p
Until we see the stats though, i'd like to see when the armor kicks in before i unleash the full force of my *thbpft* on it.
I agree with Arkham though...we've already seen the maceboy...could we see something we've not already seen?
Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but a formation of 3 infantry (one with a 7 attack) need a mere 10 to capture this mech, and with the ready availability of Bypass...

Why again would you field this mech?
:) Same reason I play the DF Pack Hunters or Panthers... We play lots of mechs out here among the corn fields to your south... Yes, the Infantry need a 10 to capture, but first they will have to catch the mech, no? And when they do (yes, I think they will), then I have to choose between smacking them all for "X" (not having seen the dial, I'm not at all sure what the damage will be), or breaking on anything but a 1 while doing a click of damage to each... Not a huge threat IMHO (and it IS only my opinion :) ), I'm more worried about VTOLs of course, but we have a very "friendly" venue environment down here, so I think it will work well here... For the hyper competative Nationals/Worlds/LE Jaeger types? No, not a chance I'd think... But just my opinions as always and I could well be wrong...

Sounds like I need to play downstate more often...if only corn fields didn't give me the willies. :noid:
Yes once again we are shown just how often the designers actually play the game they design units for.....
Apparently ranged combat is uber so much so that melee combat needs help. Hmm what ranged combat?
Tank drop or maybe charge or those move shoot move back vtols?
