I posted this question several months ago and I'm starting to think WK might officially up the build total from 450pts to 600pts when FP is released. Possible reasons:
- More combined armed forces to protect and shield the uber weak defense uniques and LE mechs.
- The sudden plethora of expensive FP uniques and LE's.
- Encourage use of Point Defense units with weak defense mechs, especially with the rumored 24 defense PD Kelswa and 22+ defense Paladin tanks, or Liao Shockwave.
Thoughts, opinions, deviations, rants, or raves welcomed.

getting to the point of the thread.
it's entirely posable we might see official 600 pt build totals as standard aprooved play. but i don't think now, or even at the time of Falcons Prey is the time that it will happen. it will most likely be about the same time frame as it took to go from the standard 300 to the current 450... possably longer
1) Super expensive(point wise) LEs are not common; why change the entire game because a few hard to get pieces? (Dont even mention the artillery/SS ArrowIV debacle)
2) Imagine 150 Bannsons Peasents.
3) With 600pts, tossing in a Command unit or so isnt such a hinderance to the battleforce (smaller percentage of points). Almost goes to a de-facto 600/4.

5) Right now Wizkids needs to let the rules settle. Too much volitility in the rules breeds a lack of confinence in the game system. Too little leads to stagnation and player loss. Minor FAQ tweeks (I predict) is all we will see until the next base set is released (probably around Dec 04).
Maybe, but 600 points also gives more room for larger mechs and larger vehicle forces.
The "artillery change" didn't fix artillery. And "tankdrop" has been on the fix list for a long time. Look at US Nationals top 9. 3 Tankdrop forces, 1 Artillery force, 2 VTOL swarms, 1 Charge, and 2 Big Mech.
Limit the number of artillery and VTOLs in "standard" forces to 1 of each per 200 points.
Give an order token to BOTH units in a deployment.
Raise the Faction Purity requirements to 50% of the build total.
Last but not least, allow Mechs and Vehicles to shoot out of base contact when based by only infantry.
Now, raise the "standard" points to 600 with 1 order per 200 points.
Every tactic has a stop. Infantry swarm gets taken out by Anp. VTOLs are weak to Aesir's. Artillery gets destroyed by speed. Big Mechs are weak to artillery. And the list goes on and on.

Fox the next base set will most likely be out next year as its not even on the production schedule for this year =) im thinking about feb but no later then April...
