Every faction has their own unique suit that makes them stand out, what do you think they are.
Jade Falcons: The scary shrike, not the new one but the one that made them real scary.
Sea Fox: Can't say seeing how they only have two, and I've only seen one.
Republic: Katsu Moriyama, the Crimson Hawk because it's about 10 times better than any other Crimson Hawk.
Liao: Yu Huang, nobody esle has one and it's really big, that can really hurt you if it DFA's you.
Steelwolves: I'm gonna say either their Mad Cat's or Kodiak, because they can do some damage.
Swordssworn: Atlas maybe if you keep it in water, plus don't really know that much about them.
Stormhammers: I'm not to sure about since never really paid to much attention to them, but I'll say Atlas since that's always a nice piece.
Highlanders: I gonna say it's a tie between the Ryoken II and the Cygnus because, you gotta admit they give people hell alot of the time.
Spirit Cats: They've got so many suits that I'm not sure and can't really remember them all but I do like Ocelot and the Zeus.
Bannson's Raiders: The suit that made this faction famous is their Zeus because it can do some damage to an army.

Uh, BattleMechs aren't "suits". Think of tanks on two legs.

Maybe he was referring to Mobile Suits (Gundam!)

However I think that Bannson's have the mighty One Eyed Jack and ROtS have Paladin Jonah Levin! You also forgot us Dragons tha sport none less than the Bounty Hunter! (but Erin Johnston can deliver some damage, too...)
I also fear Liao's Clara Parks and her 5 AP 14" missiles...

Faction allstars is it? well here's my take

Jade Falcons: No clue. We haven't seen their whole set yet
Sea Fox: same
Republic: Katsu Moriyama, the Crimson Hawk. Gotta agree, though Yuri, the black knight, or Johan Levin are also excellent peices.
Liao: Yu Huang. Can't argue. honorablem mention to their rifleman.
Steelwolves: Kodiak, all the way. 0/14" balistic range, 360 arch, 24 def at prime, GOOD starting stats!, only 250 points. Best candidate for playable assault mech IMHO.
Swordsworn: Alas we suck. Diane jamison is fairly good with her decent 22 def, 5 pulse, and 9 speed, but her dials has a three point cascade and all too often that spells her doom.
Stormhammers: I like their Warhammer IIC. If it shuts down its never more then one turn from startup.
Highlanders: Their cygnus sucks. Its overcosted and lame, even compaired to the lackluster merc cygnus. Their atlas is good, and their new thor is amazingly good.
Spirit Cats: I'm leaning toward their sun cobra. 16" range, decent damage, moderate points, decent defence. All around decent mech..
Bannson's Raiders: The man who started it all, Bart Bradshaw! Oh, yeah!

Yeah....um...first of all, despite what Wizkids seems to think, Battletech is not an anime. So they are not "suits."


Second, I gotta disagree with the above comment. Yuri Mashnovaska or Clyde Joyce are probably our best units.

@ suskis: Clara's Tian-Zong doesn't sport missiles, but rather a pair of gauss rifles; that's what does the 5 AP.

Our mechs may not be the best, but we make up for it in vehicles!!! Plus, with a little heat control SwSw Mechs are some of the most damaging, most survivable in the game. The best SE's for damage, just balanced by bad heat.

As for the list, for BnR, how can anyone not pick Jack??

well the problem is that we haven't gotten many LEs/uniques that can properly showcase the fact that we dish out more damage than the other factions (ie: we have so many light/meds! not that I can complain, but they can't represent the increased damage as well)

I'd say Hasbani is still our most extreme representation. He blows everything to hell, including himself ^^

The SS Centurion does hella good damage for a medium... The Uller is the same story for light mechs, too.

@ DAvionloyalist merc Cygnus LACKLUSTER? wow...ummmm...pulse AND AP (for six clicks no less) sure the ballistic is only good to 8 and the primary to 12 and both have minimums..but LACK luster? wow I need to watch you play :)
anywho I agree that Katsu is a GREAT unit..he just IS and that is why he will always be on the dropship for me, buuuut clyde joyce and the atlas (Levin) MUST be mentioned as well for ROTS.

Merc:
DUH!! but they seem to be known (at least to me) for several nasty offensive versions of mechs designed to survive alone and equally work well with other elements (when used in a filler role, as I do with Rots) so I would say, REALLY nasty combos of abilities and SE's on their standout mechs identifies them. (yes even the lackluster Cygnus :devious: )

I'm pretty happy with the floyd Glass unit, but again the heat dial...

SS: Gary Metcalf. Good heat, long range, big ballistic damage, good defence with reactive. Only 9 attack prevents him from being the ultimate killing machine. Also, K. Kitsman looks just nasty, 11 attack, command, streaks, AP, flamers, range. All around goodness.

RotS: Clyde Joyce, deadly at all ranges, high defence with armour and camo.

KotS: Paladin Jonah Levin, a sheer monster.

SW: Geoff Bekker or Seka Ward

Just my thoughts.

You like Kevin Nostra and or Ocelot the best of all SC uniques? Maybe you should invest some time and play more Spirit Cats, and you'll soon find the pearls Mikel Nova Cat, Etan Nova Cat, Janis Nova Cat, Angus Drummond, Arnis Drummond, Youree Nova Cat, Malisa Nova Cat, Liz Nostra (which is imo just as good as Katsu), Zabiha Nostra and Declan Devalis.

SS - I quite like Romain Teasarek. Consistent, good range, decent defense. Dial stinks but he IS Swordsworn and I've made it through about ten games w/o heat effects happening (cf Declan Devalis who, in six appearances has blown up on me ten times!!)

I like Derek too. You gotta love doing 5 damage to yourself just after pushing to salvage a Jupiter!!

BR: Stefani Ehli or One-Eye ... can't decide.

ROTS: Right Turn Clyde without a doubt. Brutal!

Liao: Lots of nice units. Hoa lasts forever so a great piece to absorb damage. Jung is almost Clyde but with Awe!! Catalina has JJ to get away from pesky basers. I like Liao.

SC: Arnis. Erm. Arnis. And maybe, erm. Arnis. Angus is OK. SC units tend to be solid, dependable and boring, which is why Arnis sticks out like a sore thumb.

Declan is good (but see my experiences above, hehe) but vulnerable to infantry and his heat dial is not the best.

SH: Michaela Freeman is a beast. The Rifleman is pretty consistent too. SH players tend to learn how to cope with their low defense.

Highlanders: Hmmm. Caden Senn is still good. The Atlas is pretty good too. Everything pales next to the LEs they get in Falcon's Prey though.

Dragons Fury: Don't really know much about DF. I have always found Danni and Antonia to be pretty consistent.

Steel Wolves: Geoff Bekker. Nuff said.
