Tonight some guy did runnning shot on Vet Vet. Nightwing
and declared it ok because he ended his running shot in
close combat. I told him its not right and I didn't have
anything to back me up. So can you fine people and judges
help me out here, or tell how I was in the wrong?
I assume Nightwing was standing on hindering terrain, and the attacker was a flyer.
No, he cannot do this. Anytime a character makes a ranged combat attack, they must be able to draw LOF. With the Bats ally TA that Nightwing has, LOF cannot be drawn to him if that line passes through any hindering terrain, including the square that Nightwing is standing in. Since, I assume, he is standing in hindering terrain, LOF cannot be drawn to him.
Also, if the attacker is a non-flyer, he cannot make a ranged attack when b2b with an opposing non-flyer. However, a hovering character can always use a ranged attack when b2b, so the attacker would have had to have been a flyer to do this.
It helps a lot Psylockeslover. I'm glad I can count on you for
an answer. Yes Nightwing was in stealth and he sent Exp. Annihilus after him. Thanks again.
And here is one more for you. He also tried using outwit
in base to base with my in stealth U. Abby Chase with his
Vet. Deathstroke. That argument I barely managed to win.

Just for my personal curiousity, you did argue that Deathstroke could not outwit Abby Chase because he couldn't draw LOF (which is required to outwit) right?
Just making sure everyone's on the same page.

what about the bushes? and that stone drang wall on the
IndyClix map?

Originally posted by Funky Jett Remy is correct. Water does not activate Stealth. Water is hindering for movement purposes only.
So water cant be used as stealth? I wanna make sure I got this right because on the other day in a game, Batman was standing in some water and they said I could not attack from range since he was in the water and stealth. Or does the Batman team ability change this rule? Thanks
From the Indy Rules (which are the rules for all HC games) -
Quote
Water: Shallow water features, such as streams and ponds, are hindering terrain for movement, but not for the purpose of drawing line of fire. Characters that can swim (that have the dolphin symbol on their base) treat water terrain as clear terrain for purposes of movement.
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.
