I'm really upset that the site is gone. I know I have referenced it many a time rather than digging out my TROs. I wasn't aware he was having financial difficulties running the site. I would gladly have sent him a dollar or two or five...
....Now see this, THIS is a tragedy. Not retirement, not artillery, not tank drop, and certainly not a ####ed translucent piece of plastic. That was an excellent website. It was perfect and I was just using it the other day!
Sounds like he needs $6000 for a new host that can provide the needed bandwith. He said something like "if each of the 6000 members could sent $1", he would easily be able to keep the site going.

I never did see the sight, but there are lots of sights with the TRO info on them (nothing new there).
"Guy's".
"Site".
Isn't that a little like the 'pot calling the kettle "black"'? ;)
On topic, it is always a sad day when a site like this bites the dust - but it seems that people took it for granted, as if they did, he'd have had the funding donated... :ermm:
The email/main page does have a link to a forum, which appears to be the temporary home of mechground.
Besides, he can't continue relying on the fans to keep his site going financially. Sure, we saved him the first time (early fall), but as long as people keep accessing the site, the bandwidth costs will rise, and at some point even whatever help we can give Marauder won't be enough (which just happened). And while we would all love to keep donating, this would probably turn into a chronic problem as more and more people go on the site. Better to take it easy for a bit before you drive yourself up a wall with costs.
I'm sure Marauder will find a way to get his stuff back up. Not anytime soon, but he'll be back for us.

Sad, really... :ermm:
That is really funny. No more typing holding my 1 month old (at least after this post).
