How's that?
And yes it has been changed Ignition.
I think it's just proper. But if it should have been limited only to ballistic ranged attack and not to energy. Decoys are flame-burst that's supposed to attract incoming missiles zeroing on the heat signature, however, lasers and PPC does not rely on heat sigs but rather follow a straight path.
Oh well, at least the change is for the better.
As for what counters it, a second-hit and a critical hit still works. :)
Hey if they can pull up that kind of defense-check rule for AnP. Why is it so hard to apply against artillery?
That's exactly what we've been begging for before the Great Arty-Nerf, but now that the nerf is no longer in effect they should've make defense count against arty sprays!!!!
Guys, I hate to burst your bubble, but the didn't change Anti-Personnel. They just worded it better to make it clearer.
Original:
"ANTI-PERSONNEL (optional) This unit’s ranged
combat attack affects the target unit and every
infantry unit in base contact with the target,
delivering this unit’s damage value to each unit
hit. For this attack, only one dice roll is made
and compared to each unit’s defense value."
New:
"ANTI-PERSONNEL (optional) This unit’s ranged combat attacks affect its targets and any infantry in base contact with those targets. First, make one attack roll and compare the attack result to the defense values of the targets of the attack. Score damage per the rules to each target against which the attack succeeds. Then compare the attack result to the defense values of any infantry in base contact with the targets. Score damage equal to this unit’s damage value to each infantry against which the attack succeeds."
Pay particular attention to the bold part of the original text. It means that you compare your attack value to each attached infantry's defense as well. Any BM that knows the rules would be able to tell you that. AnP hasn't been an "automatic hit" to basing infantry for as long as I can remember. There has always been a defense check.
LaoCain: It now appears that you do not deal full damage to multiple targets (not including the infantry) like before. The infantry still get full damage.
