In constructed tournaments for WizKids (which includes all storyline tournaments that don't specifically use another set of rules - such as the sealed rules), you may only use the following sets:
Liao Incursion
Counterassault
Falcon's Prey
Age of Destruction
Firepower
Annihilation
The following sets are considered retired from tournament play:
Dark Age
Fire for Effect
Death from Above
Units from these sets may not be used in constructed tournaments. There are a few exceptions, figures from these sets that were reprinted exactly in tournament legal sets (they will be listed in the FAQ).
Note that WizKids allows venues to schedule unrestricted tournaments. These tournaments allow venues and battlemasters to use house rules in the tournament. Unless a special rule specifies otherwise, you may use figures from any set in these tournaments.
LE are Legal the moment you get them. I remember people having Trovic last April and Playing him. How you may say simple Gama and they also sent my BMs ton of Trovics I remember them offering him to just because I said what waste of points.
I though there was a clause that once LEs are circulated by WK it automatically becomes tournament legal.
But when you say "Firepower" units are not yet tournament legal, does that means Dave Reese and Raptor are not legal units for constructed play?
This is preliminary, because I wanted to work on the wordings for the Dropship (since it can't be tournament legal because it can't fit in a tournament game). Thinking about this, I'll have to break down the specific wording of the rules. I think it might have to be changed.
1) LEs are legal as soon as obtained.
2) LEs from retired sets aren't legall.
3) The tournament rules don't cover "retired sets" only tournament legal sets.
The intent is that LEs from a future set are legal to play when you have them (however, you can't use rules from a future set until the set is tournament legal - no using "LE" mission cards until Firepower is legal).
There is also the issue now of "what is an LE?" WizKids doesn't refer to LEs anymore, just "Super Rares." I think a "super rare" is the version you pull from a booster and an "LE" is one you recieve as a prize. I'm not 100% sure.
As it is, I'm 99% sure that Dave Rees and his raptor are legal. I think this just needs to be revisited by WizKids as for wording. I'm not going to add it to the main post until I get 100% clarification, though.
As far as I kow the LEs are legal as soon as you have them in your hand. Like all the folks that had Jade Falcon Mechs before Falcon's Prey was released, however the Faction Abilities for the unit do not apply until there is product on the pegs at your store where you can purchas them.
That's how it was with Jade Falcon, and House Liao.

Actually its two weeks after product on the pegs as you said it. (I sorta like that phrase)
Does the dropship have a set symbol on it (too lazy to find and open the box)? Or do we just refer to it as the Dropship? I know that on the WK site, it has its own set reference.

For this, it doesn't matter. Any event where tournament legality matters will have a maximum point total of 600 pts., too low to play the dropship.
So, whether the dropship is technically legal or not, it's certainly not practically legal.
Guys, this is a thread so new players can have a listing of tournament legal sets. Please don't use it to argue for or against the tournament rule. Particularly don't use it to encourage tournament fraud.
