As someone only introduced to the Mechwarrior universe thru this game, I hear lots of terms/clans/background that I have no clue about. Is there a place to go to learn about the history of House Davion, the start of the Republic, why Dragon's Fury got furious, why Jacob Bannson looks like Travis Tritt......

I was in the same boat when Mechwarrior came out. I had no clue what BattleTech was. The "Touring the Stars" articles on the Wiz Kids site helped me get a general knowledge.
