How are these things selected? Corle's thread is so old that it is only semi-relevant and nothing new has really been added that should make it the best thread of the week.

If I'm not mistaken, the selection of Threads of the Week is based upon the amount of posts in the thread and the fact that people very recently replied in said thread. That's why old yet large threads will appear in the list if people rediscovered them and brought them back to the attention of this forum's members by adding fresh posts to them.

"None of the above" unfortunately isn't an option. I'm wondering what kind of percentage it would score if it actually was available for the voters.
