It's already that time of the year again and once more I'm stoked. The Canadian Nationals will be starting on Saturday at Cangames, and will run on until Sunday night. For those who don't know, the format will be:
With this year being a 2-Day event it looks like the road to the champion's trophy will be a harder one, although that won't stop me from trying!
Anywho, I'll be posting updates on this thread and welcome any others to do the same; I'll try to write down as many armies as I can and will take a bunch of pictures as well

The Nationals are over! The winner of this year is Michael Schpurga! The runner up is Brian Saunders, the defending champion. Here are the top 4 armies:
3rd or 4th: Mark Markies (Wolfmarkies)
BR Solitaire X3
Sea Fox Solitaire
And there ya have it, folks. I'll be posting more on the website later.
Marc
P.S. Some of you may have noticed that both Smilinmike and Wolfmarkies are in the top 10 on the front of the website. That means, that, if all goes according to the rules WK has set up, Michael's invite will be passed down to myself. I'll be seeing you guys at Gencon!
Thanks for the great coverage, Marc! Very interesting and helpful thread. An army build around AoD Alpha and a WH Kelswa was next on my list to try out . . .
I can't believe there were so many Mechs at this tournament! I knew that Mechless armies were nearly dead in 600-point games now, but man! I did not expect so many 2+ Mech armies. And so many Solitaires. I love those guys.
May our Canadian representatives do us proud at the worlds! (no pressure!)
So the Canadian nationals are over. Let's hope we win the World event for the fourth time. It may be within reach for another year. If it is Wizkids should give us a Canadian themed lance. Canadian military vehicles have been named after fanged and clawed beasties for the past one hundred years, ram, grizzly, cougar etc. (shades of clanners). On another note there are several highlander regiments still in existence in Canada today! So take your pick.
Yeah, I must say the BR Solitaire was the biggest thorn in my side all weekend. They were mechs that ended up knocking me out of the tournament. All in all though I must say the weekend was awesome and I look forward to next year already. My only regret is not getting a chance to play you Marc but hopefully I'll see you same time next year to get a second shot at it.
And as always good luck to our Canadian team. We have a pretty big reputation to live up to.
