PC/M: Horrible Day, Caverns, Gain the Momentum/Split Up

I designed this army shortly after receiving Kaze in a trade. Looking over his ability, it clicked with me that, with the upcoming Wolf Strike Planetary Condition card Horrible day…you’re almost guaranteed to roll critical hits, and plenty of them, using his pilot ability. This, of course, led to an immediate need to see what I could do to support the guy.

Given the premise of the army, my main problem was that everyone else gets that quadrupled-plus critical miss ratio as well. The solution that hit me was to use units that were resistant to critical misses, that being Scott Graves + Quantum and anything with IT. I decided on a pair of Enyo for their good Pulse attacks, and threw in a pair of Shamash to use as harassers and VC3 runners. This almost-random arrangement, dreamed up in perhaps a minute and a half, came out to 600 even. God I’m good XP.

Anyways. The army is average at best under Caverns and Gain the Momentum/Split up, but transforms into an almost unbeatable force under Horrible Day. Given that PC, you will kiss your Unique ‘Mech’s pilots bubye, and while almost all my own units are able to at least attempt to roll out of critical misses, with Quantum almost as immune to them as Kaze is, the enemy will likely be critmissing themselves silly. Between Master Chief assassinating all your Unique pilots and a hugely increased critical miss rate…well, things aren’t going to go well for the poor sod I decide to sic the Horrible Day on :p

Anyways. Just threw it together to see what would happen. I doubt it’s all that good, but I’m gonna show it off anyways and see what you guys think. Have at it.

So instead of just Merc pride/ True grit, people will be bringing Horrible day/"add any canceling PC here" and you have just shot down another build paragram.

That is a pretty interesting concept. I myself find Horrible Day to be an intriguing card, if only for its ability to counter Perfect Day.

One thing to note, only standard attacks (CC and RC) are affected by the PC, meaning this could be an MDFA and Charge Monkey's best friend.
