The Studebaker's vs. The Checker's: South Bend vs. Kalamazoo
YOU HEARD IT HERE FOLKS!
There has been a call for a South Bend vs. Kalamazoo cage match between the mighty mechwarriors at their respective venues!
In the South Corner, the folks responsible for the Avanti, the Hummer (::snicker::) and the worst whooping experienced at home in 46 years...South Bend!
In the North Corner, the city famed in song, story, and stupid sayings; from the bubbling muck in great copper vats which spawned Bell's and Old Pennisula to the Great Nuthouse Tower on the hill (no, not Western)...Kalamazoo!
We are calling folks from both venues to determine the place of beating...er...meeting for this most auspicious occasion. And speaking of occasion, we have to think of WHEN as well.
So throw your hat in the ring and help us figure out when good should triumph over evil!

cats, and bears, and wolves OH MY!
Would be real fun to see some bear vs wolf action. I say we hold off till Deraiche can get some of the CW units.
I'd rather play down here of course, but it's not a must.
We'd also need to decide on a format. # of players, points, venue, etc. It doesn't matter to me, but I say we play for bragging rights. (Course fun too!)
Have mechs, will travel. Any date but the 30th will work for me.
Needless to say weekends would probably work the best.
Tenatively I would say mid to late October; We could do a drive-down road trip, mostly because the Kzoo Game Shop is a little on the smallish side, having tables among the merchandise while Fantasy has a dedicated game room. I know DieRache has a venue in SB too, though I have not been there before. Put simply, it seems like SB offers more options and we can arrange a road trip sort of thing.
As far as battle size goes, I think something in the 900-1200 point range would be sufficently EPIC to satisfy the hunger of some of our more prestigeous players.
Any ideas for army restrictions, rules, etc?
Also what day is most everyone happy with? I was thinking weekends since a lot of 9-5 jobs are closed, and if we give sufficent notice to people they can request it off if they work weekends.
And for an added element of fun we could storm a local restaurant afterwards and spend our spoils (well...if it was for REAL maybe...)
I feel that Fantasy should be the place to do this at. Larger gaming area and everyone knows how to get there. I say each venue pick 4 of its top players to play in this battle for bragging rights. 900 points, no planet cards or missions. Straight up Butte whooping. and oh yes I want to wait untill I get my hands on Wolf mech goodness. 3 rounds and each of venues players play the other venues not each other, Winning team will be team with most wins.
Make it one big battle all armies on one board and make it 900 pt faction pure I would start early so you can finish the game. Just my thoughts even though I have no idea what area you are talking about.

As long as I can catch a ride, I'd say go down to them. The Kzoo venue is really small.
And ooooooooooh, just thinking of 900 faction pure makes me think of all the RD goodness. FP games are so much fun.
Hopefully I get to see some other clan totem mechs, a shrike, a warwolf, some nova cats and wendigo's.
BTW: since its going to be FP can any1 lend me a light repair for the game?
@Jegred2. Fight for the honor of the Clan and show them the meaning of pain. May your claws strike them down without mercy. For the Bear that rages in you cannot be stopped not matter what any say. Remember this:
Now is the time
To prove
What we know to be true:
That we shall conquer all.
-The Remembrance (Clan Ghost Bear), Passage 155, Verse 2, Lines 45-48
Ok, what about October 22nd for a day? We could play around lunch time, 1 o' clock-ish which gives everyone time for church in the morning if that's your thing. I can't recall Fantasy's open hours on Sunday or their gaming schedule, so hopefully we can grab some tables for this. I know I can take 4 people in my car (not entirely very comfortable but it works) and she might make the journey down there. I'll chat with woodearth and Jegred tet-a-tet on Saturday and see what they think about riding in the ol' Sundance Deathtrap :p
I have a M mechanical repair Jeg if you need it; in fact, I have a couple O.o...
Ya I have a Med repair, just the only med mechs for RD I have are Ull and 2 Raptors. Would rather put the L repair on an anubis than on a raptor, Ull gets some SU evade luvin or RISC AP EP
Lars was my favorite char in Fortress Republic, so he was naturally my first RD unique, now I shall unleash his wrath.
oh, and can't wait for this Sat., Tamias is going to play faction pure. Mabe he will see the light for these games that don't mean anything.
By the way, I am the number 1 player in Bogart, Georgia. WOOT! lol. #2 in Jackson, damn falcon players always beating me, I beat him 1/4 of the time though.
