Um... Are you sure about doing that? That's an average 50 points per figure. You will constantly be harrassed by tons of smaller figures. The average 200 point army has 6-8 figures in it so your 400 point army should probably have around 12-16. You should also try to get some harrasers in there. I can see that you have an anti-harrasser, but you need at least one more, and you need to use some Imps or Shades for harrassers. Try to base your army around just one unique that way you have room for enough other figures that you won't get swarmed too easily.
ok that advice sounds good. well then if i was to take somone out..then maybe I should take out my nightstalker and then out in a blue shade and a yellow specter.
Well since my bro saw that I was getting good advice here he wants you all to rate his army...
Yeah that's sounding a little better, but I would have left the Nightstalker in and taken out a unique IMHO. Also I would lower it down to at most 2 uniques. I would take out one of the Mage Spawn in order to add on to a Nightstalker formation, but I don't know if you have two more Nightstalkers. That's just me though. Oh yeah, also, you might want to downgrade the Nightwitch to weak, if possible, and upgrade the tough Leech Medic to a tough Faith Healer, if possible. This is just what I would do (if I even had the figures that I'm suggesting you use), but the only problem I see with your army is the amount of figures in it. If you had at least 10-12 figures I would say that you are set. Keep in mind that swarms are very large in 400 point format. They (this is just my average, and if you want to find the actual average you would have to ask someone else) can range anywhere from 18-maybe 25 figures depending on what your opopnent is using in his/her swarm. Now this is just my advice, I am no expert. If you want expert advice try asking 42up, Endrick, or Borg. They are just the most prominent experts, but I am sure that there are more. Good luck! :)
Sabinx15-Well let's see... I don't have very many Mage Knight figures, and I don't spend all my time playing Mage Knight. I was merely giving him suggestions. He put this into a the Battle Formations: Rate & Review thread so I decided to rate and review it. This was not a thread designed for your flaming pleasure. You see, if you would have at least tried to help him with his army, then I would have let that little flame slip by, but you came on this thread merely to flame me. I suggest that you delete your post before I notify a moderator of your post. BTW- I do not even have a Nightstalker or almost any of these figures that he has listed here. I am only giving him advice on how he might be able to improve his army, in my view. You are welcome to contribute.
Sorry about that Diomedes811-While I was responding to Sabrinx I failed to notice that you posted your brother's army. Well is this a 400 point army also? Well I will just assume that it is because yours is. Well he does have the anti swarm thing covered, but he might want a harrasser or two to tie up the enemy while he moves into base contact because his army has a relatively average speed value (8 I believe). Faster armies and ranged armies will probably give this army a harder time, but it does look like it has good durability. It just needs a little help in the harrasser/anti harrasser department. Good concept though.
I think that maybe Hitash Levat is worth his point cost, but the Priest will probably have to get too close to the action to heal. With only a range of 6 (even with bound) he would be too vulnerable because you will usually have two options. Those would be: move your priest up towards the battle, or move your forces back (If I missed something let me know, anyone). Seeing that your army has an average movement value, neither if these would be the best idea. You might want to try either an Elemental Priest (If you have one), or a cheaper somewhat version of it, the Corrupted Priest. The Corrupted Priest only has a defense of 17 with Defend (I'm not saying that's a bad thing), but it saves you points and you have a pretty good range (10) with it, and if you have an emergency you can send it into battle and not fear for it because it gains Vampirism. I am not saying that you need to go out and buy a ton of Sinister to get this, I am only suggesting that this might be a good addition to your army, especially because it moves 10 inches with flight. If you don't have one of those you might want to try not using any healers at all. Seeing that this army is designed to go into melee, you might not have enough time to heal your figures so Necromancy might be a better alternative. Also, I agree with 42up, try to use a Bond Maker for formations if you have one. A Soul Stealer might also be a good idea seeing that you can escort your Minotaurs into melee, and if one dies then you can raise it up on the spot. I still think that you need harrassers unless you can get a hold of a Bond Maker (meaning that your Minotaurs move a lot faster). I think I am missing something... Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Would you please tell us how you,or your brother, play with your armies so we can help you out a little more? I still think I am missing something... I'll post again if I think of something else.
