Another pet peeve of mine. I just love those buggers. They look cool, and pack a strong punch. Make a nice figure for Dungeons, too.
Strong points:
- good attack and possible damage (9/10/11 and WM)
- relatively stable stats (always at least 6/2)
Problems:
- lacks really strong SAs or stats, but otherwise it is fine.
The Bone Golem suffers a bit from its possibly low damage for a melee figure in the 30 points league. Other then that, he is great. The better two versions have two slots of regeneration, helping him stay in combat longer, and he is never harmless until dead. The initial attack value paired with three damage or Weapons Mastery helps him be an adept but versatile Killer. If facing figures that suffer greatly from a solid hit, use the damage, if it does not make much of a difference if you do 1, 2 or 3, use the ability. Great for the occasion opportunity to kill a damaged figure in one blow instead of just knocking it into its demo slots, forcing you to wait at least two more turns before being able to use your Golem somewhere else. The yellow is a bit weak, but the other two are really useful.
General Stormfox
PS: If I have to write ´General Stormfox´ a thousand times more, it gets implanted into my fingers ;-)
Edit: Forgetting to input your title is something that happens if you woke up because the phone rang ;-)
Mountain Orb, what did you have in mind for the 30 pt. club? In this category the Bonegolem can hold its own very well. I have to say that they are very important staple in a Necro army. They provide you with a fairly solid hitter.
The main advantage of the Boner is the "Fear Factor" - the possible 6 damage let him stick out as a threat and may distract from the Seethers or whatever is alongside.
The Bone Golem is my favorite figure and the one I am best at using. My best Boney (Blue) has taken down a Hierophant, an Emerald Glade Mystery, an Order of Uhlrik, and has captured a Magus. Of course this is because the dice were good to me, but it's nice to brag a little;) .
Even though I always use a blue one, I think that red Boneys are the best of the three. Besides being more intimidating, they have one more attack, one more slot of WM, and, if they get a perfect regeneration, can regenerate back to a WM slot. This draws actions to the Bone Golem to finish it off, because the threat of a possible 6 damage even when it's close to death is very intimidating. All this for only 4-9 more points.
Well, that's my 2-cents worth on my favorite fig. I hope this thread gets lots of replies, as I would love to hear more insight on Bone Golems.

Well what you call fear factor, I call redundant abilities. For whatever a bone golem costs, you could have any number of better figures. And that suprise slot of regeneration at the end doesn't justify his fairly weak stats. Seething knights are way better in my opinion, and cost less.
hmmm i must concur with shadowdeth here. Stormfox, what was the goal of this post? if it was to try to shed some positive light on a figure most have deemed 'poop', you did a good job. he has some positive redeeming qualities.
if your goal was to point out that people should actually use this figure because it's 'good', well i'd have to disagree with you. like shadowdeth said, the weapon mastery is a wasted ability. the regen slots are practically a waste too. (don't get me started on regen and how bad i think it is :)) if you're playing necropolis, definitely go with the seething knights over the bone golem.
I don´t like those Bone Golens too much, unless I use a red one with a flesh golem *** to make a very interesting couple....( I have a green Flesh Golen that really looks like Frankenstein! )
However, the Seething Knight in my opinion is much more solid than the bone, and the Seething *** with that giant damage on the first slot is still the ultimate necropolis fighter for the points he cost!
Ram,charge, shockwave, bound, poison or any other ability that deals automatic damage means death to most Bone Golens....:(
