From the Official Mage Knight Website :
There are 4 different Apocalypse figures: War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death. They are all members of the Apocalypse faction, as indicated by their faction symbol.
Warriors of the Apocalypse faction may be included in a formation with friendly warriors of another faction, as if they were the same faction as those other warriors. All other formation rules apply normally.
When an Apocalypse warrior makes a close combat or ranged combat attack, he may choose to use the printed attack value of any other friendly Apocalypse figure in play instead of his own. This decision is made at the same time the attacker chooses which of his optional special abilities to turn off.
When an Apocalypse warrior is targeted by a close combat or ranged combat attack, he may choose to use the printed defense value of any other friendly Apocalypse figure in play. This decision is made at the same time the defending player chooses which of his optional special abilities to turn off.
Really, that special ability of using the printed value of any other apoc. faction figure in play is broken. You beat the living tar out of pestilence, but it's still owning you because it has the statistics of the War figure that's hiding in the corner.
Admittedly, this would probably never happen, but it's still possible if you're playing against that guy who bought those two horsemen on ebay.
I doubt a hevily wounded Pestilence would own you thanks to War's values. Sure it would have really high attack and defense values, but it would still only have its damage value, which should be low after taking a beating.
I doubt very much if I ever have to worry about this SA every showing up on the game table...except perhaps at a very large convention like Origins or Gencon...maybe. After all you have to have at least TWO of these guys!!! Neat ability but otherwise irrelevant...
I wouldn't doubt they will produce more horsemen. But it will be a ways off down the road I'm sure. I'm betting they will still keep them rare by making them a LE figure (not just a rare of Unique) so they will still be pretty rare but not so impossible to find that they will go for a few hundred bucks on ebay. I'd love to get a hold of a set if I ever got back into the RIFTS RPG and did an African scenario.
So what happens if one of the figures is in base contact with the RLD with a DEFEND of 20? Can that horseman figure than "broadcast" that shared 20 to a brother horseman out in the thick of it?
Something every-one should remember, WK said there will be 1 horseman figure for every 15000 packs of Sinister... this means, that they have either A) deicded how many packs of Sinister they are going to produce and have made an appropriate number of horsemen, or B) they will continue producing horsemen until Sinister goes out of production. Remember, Lancers was on the streets for 8 months before they stopped producing it... something to think about...
Thanks, Brutal Warrior..
Do you think then that "the printed value" also includes the SA that is present in the slot... that is, is the "background color" part of the printed value?
If not, they don't seem all that tough to me. Sure, the attack and defense values don't shrink as the warrior is damaged, but the damage he deals gets less and less, and his special abilities still dissipate.
