A Throttle Worm, as long as it has Venom, will do a guaranteed one click of damage every time it attacks. This cannot be reduced by Toughness or invulnerability, as it is considered attack damage.
The drawback is that you have to attack. This consumes an action to do a click of damage, whereas in Rebellion the damage is automatic at the beginning of your turn. This also provokes a counterattack from the opposing figure.
Throttle Worms are still decent in Dungeons, but I personally don't see them being as powerful as they are in Rebellion.
But it does not take an action to counterattack - with virtually every counterattack gauranteed to inflict a click on the attacker that is very nasty in Dungeons. Just make sure to use an activation whenever it is not adjacent so that ranged attackers don't clobber them. But I agree that there are more effective Mage Spawn for their point cost in Dungeons.
Yup, what he said. And since damage from attacks is never reduced below one... Every action you give to a venomous figure to damage someone WILL net a click.
Use Tinker Geely (the only hero with Venom) and a bunch of Tormented Souls for your Mage Spawn. If your opponent uses them against you, attack with Tinker and you're guaranteed to kill them, hit or miss.

Played my first game in about 3 months last night, (of course having to re-read the rules). Didn't see anything about "toughness" being negated. Could you point to a ref for me. (Geez, wondering what else I'm missing?)
The toughness is not negated. In Dungeons toughness and invulnerability reduce attack damage to a minimum of 1 (not zero like Rebellion/Unlimited) and Venom is considered attack damage. As attack damage a Venom attack or counterattack will always inflict at least one damage regardless of whether it hits or misses.
I thought that Toughness and Invulnerability still work to negate damage from Special Abilities like Magic Blast, Weapons Mastery and Venom, reducing the damage to zero.
