I really like what it looks like but.......has anyone ever seen it in a game? Its movement is so restricted. Can it possibly compete in a 200 or 300pt game?
I personally don't like this thing because of it's life spans all over. i don't know exactly, but about 7-8 slots only are open on the front. With only 16 defense everywhere, this is just a point-eater and should just be left in atlantean land.
i also like the way it looks... i haven't really played with it, but my friend tells me that it is fairly usable... mostly because of its front arc ability... if you put in a good sweeper, like that dwarf on board, it can do some serious damage fast... try it... and it costs relatively ok... for 300... for 200? well, i guess it can ride in those lesser sweepers... but im not too sure about this rule... havent seen it used in a while...
i guess... but that's still a lot... you could have it run backwards... i mean like any mdf, you could have it move from behind first... then you get that really big front arc... with sweep...
Has anyone ever used it in a tourny? Most people I speek to call it a heep of trash. I would like to hear good things but darn it the thing just doesn't seem good!
I have used it, and I have fun with it on the occasions that we play Conquest games. I generally put a tough Altem Guardsmen inside, and use it as a sort of mobile shield for my lines.
You are quite right about it's limited mobility though- the fact that Chariots can only move straight forward combined with its low movement means that all too often it gets bogged down in the middle of a swirling engagement.
In smaller games, I think that most people would agree that either of the other chariots is a better option for the points, but in larger games where you have the actions to burn it can be an effective threat in itself.

My Atlantean Ram/Troll Chieftain 200 pointer is still undefeated. After 4 touneys including a nationals qualifier! The most impressive appearence was at a campaingn tournament. Guess who hadn't to change his army over the whole tounament?
nope, still undefeated. The Score is something like 20:0 (one draw though), I don't count.
What would you do against it? I know, there are a few things that could attempt to beat this army, but I have always a fair chance against almost everything.
addendum: The only thing that is a real threat is über range played by cowards, like Scorpems+Magus+heavy ME. I once lost the Ram in nearly one turn thanks to such things (300 points, though)
you Americans have invented the term "drive by shooting". covers the whole strategy, really.
And look at Chieftains stats. She does not weaken. And most units have useless units, like Man Catchers, Rams, Shades, units with poison, so you dont fight against 200 points.
