I hate to break it to you, but he deserves to be left out. You really shouldnt have a figure worth half of your army, especially if he is a healer. Basically, if you want to use him, play more conquest:D
Well, I have one Eldrich too, but fit well in a 300 pts games, but If I were you, I probably use him with troll Artillerist, you can combine the 3 kinds (weak, standard, tough) and only have 100 plus your Eldrich, and of course you gain a great healer, and 12 inch attack!
The Eldritch also has pretty good offensive capabilities. It has an attack of 11, and it does 3 clicks of damage. Yeah I know, 3 clicks of damage for a 93 point figure, but if using it for pure defense ism't going the way you had planned you can always use it offensively. Just thought I'd add that.:)
tactic put grems in front of formation move towards strong range fig when nearly in base fly reaper at the rear he spins to face then i go rear with grems so they can get a betta chance to hit
My Eldricht Draconum is perhaps one of my most used if not MOST
used figures recently. I also thought like you for a while until I paired the Eldricht with a Storm Golem and some Amotep Gunners.
All figures can be healed and all benefit from a Magical Enhancement bonus and a defense of 19. (21 for the Storm Golem w/ his battle armor.
This little "deathstar" is tough to defeat/defend against.
To get real annoying in a higher point game, put another shared defense figure (amazon queen, mending priestess, elven demi-magus) in contact with the Eldricht.
Now you can surround that figure with other ranged figures who all will benefit from a defense of 19 because the Eldricht changes the (chosen shared defense figures) defernse to 19 and it still retains defend. Figures with dodge are extremely annoying in this army especially if they have range because even if you do manage to hit them with their 19 defense, they still can dodge.
