Most people nowadays use the corrupted priest as a healer, not needing his flight and defend, due to this, they waste 13 points in their army, enough for a *shade!
Why 13 points you ask? Well, since the level 1 Morg bloodspiller can do almost the same things as the *corrupted priest. He has an attack rating of 10, high enough to hit most wounded uniques, toughness like the krugg Seer to ward off flame/lightning and rammers out there and as a bonus, he gains Regenerate when he is near death…
There, Morg can do wonders for only 35 points, but, let’s see the weaknesses he has when compared to the *corrupted priest:
Speed: Morg has a lowly speed rating of 6, with no special abilities to help him break away. But the priest has a speed rating of 10 with flight, ensuring easy break-away.
Defense: He has a low defense of 15 at level 1. But he has toughness to make up for it… The corrupted priest has a defense of 17, with the special ability defend, ensuring that those around him will get the same… try retreating your figs into base contact with the priest in the rare case where you fail to heal, the figure in base contact will have a defense rating of 17.
But, morg costs 13 points less. Consider the trade off. Will you need the other abilities of the corrupted priest anyway? If you’re in doubt and need another offensive hand, go for the level2 Morg which has an attack rating of 11 and 3 damage…
So, when in need of a heavy duty healer, consider Morg…

It's all a matter of what you want in your SA's. I love both these peices. Morg is one of the best healers/attackers in the game (and don't forget the attack part). Solid slots and damage, along with healing, you just don't get that every day. And best of all, he can support himself most of the time.
The thing is, the corrupted Priest has 17 defend. I sometimes rather spend the extra 13 points, so I can have defend late in a fight when I need it. I don't know how many times I 've been saved because someone had defend and was fresh after long engagements. Espcially if I'm playing my troll army.
I think the moral of the story is, if you use a lot of high defense figs, definatly go with Morg. IF you really need the defend ability to help late in the game, Go with the priest.
It really depends on what my main strengths are going to be.
If my army F/L I would go with the Kugg Seer, I f I am playing long range single attack I would probably go with the corrupted priest, for melee I would go go Morg.
But then again I also like the ***Centuar Medic as well.
I think that you are actually ignoring one of the biggest points in the Priest's favor over Morg, and that is his allegiance to not just a Rebellion major faction, but 2.
Since Rebellion armies that feature formations of heroes are extremely rare, you are almost always going to be spending an extra action to move Morg around. This alone is one of the main reason that the broad majority of Dungeons heroes almost never see Rebellion use.
The Corrupted Priest on the other hand, can participate in either Elementalist League or Necropolis Sect formations. In some armies, the Priest acts alone and in that case his faction allegiance is inconsequential. But in many armies, the Priest is needed to round off a formation, saving precious actions which is something that Morg simply can't do.
You guys havent looked at the great things about defend:
the priest belongs to the 2 factions that need defend the most, EL and NS (actually EL has plenty of defend, but more cant hurt). Think trolls and zombies. these guys have some of the worst defense and movement in the game... the priest cant help the movement, but he can the defense.
I played dungeons A LOT before I got into mageknight and I have never had Morg let me down in either game. I used him last time I played and he saved the lives of my Troll Chief and Unicorn Tracker. I have not tried my CP's yet mainly because of the points cost. And also because of the simple fact... MORG LOOKS AWSOME! sorry had to throw that in there
I use low level morg in regular games, and use him full strength in Conquest. Bottom line, 12 attack with MH is great. And he just looks so darn cool! Morg is my favorite hero, he can fight and heal equally well, he does whichever one you need. Plus berserk and standard troll regeneration down the line. Morg has saved my butt on more than one occasion with his powerful healing. And as I said before, he just looks so dang cool
