I disagree.

First of all, Anunub's Shield costs a whopping 84 points. His range of 12" is nice, but what has made KI Swarm so popular is the Standard Bearer, a piece that allows formations of KI figures to base 12" range figures from outside of their range. Against the broad majority of KI Swarm armies, the Anunub's Shield will not get a chance to get off a single F/L shot before he is based.

His starting defense of 15 makes him very easy to hit for elves to the point where they will not even need a formation attack to hit him. His 90º arc and lack of anti-swarm CC abilities such as Sweep or Venom only makes things harder for him, and I see him being quickly overwhelmed.

If you want a swarm hate figure, look no further than the Pyre Spirit.

well, he will work against other swarms that DON'T move 12 inches, like orcs, utems, and crystal bladesmen.

Where did you find his stats?

He's listed under the warriors section along with all the other sinister LE's.

He's big and he's bad and he's gonna toast your oven.... invulnerability wth 15... 17 against range... not so bad.

I think any unique with 12'' range would only be match by shade then backup by any range and close combat formation
