You have a formation of chargers for the first strike, than the tormentor serves as a HUGE clean up.
The thing that makes me upset about the Tormentor is that i'd like to push him in the battle to take him in the charge clicks, but on the other hand i wouldn't want to loose dodge... :confused:
What do you think?
Nighmare reapers and banshees are good because they have charge and toughness (reaper) or bound and shokwave (banshee), but they have some defects too...
1. they are very fragile (expecially nightmare banshee) and don't have particularly good attack values.
2. in a formation they'll move at just 7'' because there aren't necropolis figures with forced march. So Following the tormentor at 14'' will cost a lot of actions.
Practically, i still think that KI chargers are a better solution (but, i know, they suffer rammers and harassers blocking their charge ability).
Maybe there is a more usefull way to use the Tormentor instead ofusing him with chargers... what do you think?
well this might be insane but how about a venom army? the red throttle worms are worth it and then you have the pyre spirit from unlimted run the worms in then use the spirit and tormenter to take down figs with toughness and/or support characters I think it could work but don't have a tormenter
Throttle worms are very nice, but pairing them with the tormentor has a problem: they're slow. Even the red moves at just 10'.
A solution can be grouping two or three or them with a shyft fiend... :D but i'd prefer avoiding this solution...
Tormentor is very fast and so if you want to use him effectively, i think, u've got to pair him with figures that move at least at 12'.
So, thinkin' to a all venom/melee army, i'd suggest this:

pyre spirit 87
wyvern 44
shade *12
shade ** 16
shade *** 20
TOT 300
Maybe it can be very nice to play (i don't have all these figures too :rolleyes: )
