WHOOHOO!!! Got one for running my event yesterday and faced one in the final round today and squeaked out a narrow victory for the BPR after dealing a massive 16 clicks to Gilgarsh who was still coming when time ran out. It was a great match against an excellent player. I am very proud of my twins. So how much do Hill Giant babies go for on the black market these days?
Actually, I was going to go to Ancient Wonders today too until I found out they were full. Alls well that ends well, I guess. And Interzone is a great venue with an excellent warlord as well so I had a great time. And about 25 miles closer to my home!
AW worked well. Two folks went 3-0, with Gilgarsh going to James who played folks with records of 0-3, 1-2, 1-2, while Bill played folks with records of 0-3, 0-3, and 1-2. (Tip of the hat to the late great PEACEMAKER for introducing the concept to MK scoring!)
For all you if-you-don't-use-points-you'll-just-die weenies out there *THIS* is the best way to break ties. James got the overall win because he played BETTER opponents, as evidenced by their having 2 wins compared to Bill's opponents who only scored a single victory.
No better, fairer, game-UN-altering method for breaking ties. Use it, weenies.
Oh... this thread is about you. And your two Gilgarsh's. Oh.
Lucky you. Lost my chance to win in round one when my tower got taken out a turn before In would have won the game. Played at Rush Games/Wild Things in Salem. The person I lost to in the first round went on to eventually win it.
Blunt Smoker, congrats on YOUR twins! I was going to try and win another one Saturday evening after I ran my event, but I took a vote and the players voted to play an extra round to help create a more decisive victory. So I couldn't make the other tournament. Coincidentally, the guy I faced in the final round also already had a Gilgarsh and he won it at the tournament I wasn't able to make it to. We could have been facing off for Gilgarshes in two different tournaments.
Balduran I, sorry I didn't make my reservation in time to come and play with you guys. I'm afraid I ran the old fashioned point system and played under it at Interzone as well. I don't like to muck with the rules in marquees but I'm glad it worked for you. My question is this, points favors the person who drew the crappier opponents, correct? Doesn't win/loss record do the same thing but cover it up a little more nicely? If I was unfortunate enough to draw a player in the first round who would eventually go on to an 0-3 record but my opponent drew a good but beatable 2-1 player, then right off I start with a 2 point deficit. If this system is better, then I think it is only marginally so. But I've been wrong before...just not in this lifetime. ;>
So how many others ended up with twins? Any triplets?
You seem pretty sure of yourself, Blunt Smoker. Not much competition in your area or are you just that good? What was your army and what side were you playing?
Still childless despite being undefeated in a marquee and being cut while tehy let a 1-1 guy pass simply because he was Atlantis...
________ WELLBUTRIN CLASSACTION
I worded it wrong. I had another oppertnity to win another on Sunday if I had gotten up earlier.
I used the same army for both events that I was in. One time as a the attacker and the other time a defender (simply casue the attacking side was already filled up :( )
What my army is all all bout ML a Thunder Golem up near the tower and taking shots at it til it got destroyed. I also had the heavy Fist and a grave robber/healer combo just in case things start to get ugly.
The real chalange is defending it. The venue over there is all bout kids using there big overpriced unqiues and reviving them when I manage to kill them off. Fortuanly I manage to win the war of attrition in all my rounds and score a victory for the rebels over there.
