Looks interesting, but it doesn't look at all suitable for chess (as they claim it is) since it would be hard for the two players to even find, let alone hit the proper buttons to turn off their clock and turn on their opponent's. It may work very well for Mage Knight, though.
Originally posted by Kinnison um... why do you need all those features for MK?
i can understad those other games, but for MK all you need is a countdown timer. i can get one of those at Wal-mart for $10
Playing Conquest with 3 to 6 players we are looking to move the game along and add some time limit to turns for fun,...again Im looking to see if anyone has used this?
Just recieved my G8 in the mail (fast shipping) and Its Great!
really easy to set up cant wait to use it in a game this week-end.
well made .Ill let you know how it works ..later
The Rabbidgerbal is not sure if a time limit is a good thing or not. Part of the frothing one likes some goals for each side and a number of turns to achieve them, while the Big bad gerbil daddy can understand the irritation of someone wasting 10 minutes on their turn.
a stop watch might do just as well if you want turn times... say two minutes each? a cheep-o egg timer for a normal hour or two game, hidden for direct view along with your normal watches so people don't turtle knowing they need to hold that last two minutes.
I feel that there should be some sort of countdown timer to time turns in plain view. Have a set amount of time for each side for the entire game. If one player runs out of time, then he/she cannot take anymore turns until the end of the game. This would stop turtlers entirely.
Well my bro's and I used The G8 in a three way conquest battle using the old "battle for the relic scenario" from the march 2001 scenario club..What a blast it was tense, fast and fun we played for 1 hr.50min,with each player having a 2min turn and a 30sec delay before each turn starts (that was enuff to roll for command and pass the G8 to next player.)it was also programed to sound off 7 seconds before each turn ended. We loved it!!! Its amazing what fun it was to play in hyper mode. It really made everyone think ahead we did loose some actions per turn while the clock ticked away, but.. over all I feel we actuly did more with our armys..:p our goal was to have fun and this added a differant level of fun for us.Recommended for mature viewers;)
